The Well-Hung "Make us a Joyful Noise" seasonal song contest will be poll-voted by AGF members (Like AGF Unplugged, if there are more than 10 entries I will pick the top ten.) The winner will earn bragging rights and a fab strap direct from my workshop. There will be second and third prizes as well. If any other vendors wish to add in prizes you are very welcome to contact me via PM.

This is simply a little bit of motivation for members to actively participate musically and open yourselves up a bit to your community and help fight off stage fright. My goal for these is mainly to inspire fellow guitar lovers of all skill levels and to help build the musical participation of our community.

Most of all, get to playing our guitars rather than polishing and photographing them. I repeat, the REAL PRIZE you will find here is participation, involvement in creation and the warm fuzzies you will get by BEING INVOLVED, and putting it out there.

Original words and music or instrumental/ submissions are to be added to this thread by midnight Dec 23rd and must be minimum 2:00 in length - THAT IS SHORT! - SoundCloud/youtube etc. Since this is a guitar forum, let's have some guitar in your recording please. Suggest you do NOT get all wrapped up in production values or fancy videos as very often I find the simple and straightforward submissions "cut through the mix" and score far better than Cecil B. De Mille productions. This should be a new recording, not something you have filed away from years ago please. Not able to find the right tone? Maybe you should ask Santa at the Mall, lightweight. Real tones only, fake tones are for losers. Sad.

Please post lyrics too with your musical composition. There are NO genre/style limitations - solo/duo/trio or full full band - Judging will happen between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Whatever/however you personally celebrate the "holiday" season is of no matter but your submission should focus on this season and/or celebration traditions - if you have nothing to celebrate you are encouraged to either pretend you do or find another contest to enter. If you feel you may be inclined to be politically or religiously offended or offensive this contest is not for you. Do NOT enter.

As per usual I reserve the right to bend or change rules mid-stream for the betterment of this contest, and for personal gain (LOL).

Who's in? Get composing! When it's done DROP IT RIGHT HERE IN THIS THREAD!

you don't have to sing, but it has to be an original, and at least one musician on it needs to be an AGF member

YES! and Daneman is available as a singer for anyone who asks I'm pretty sure.

Really few rules: SEASONAL theme + original + AGF membership + deadline = good to go.

Oh, I've got some ideas. Just gotta get my microphones back from my friend who I lent them to over a year ago... :|

If I get them back, prepare your eardrums to be berated...

I will probably assault everyone's ears with more joyous noise. If I have made ears bleed I am sorry, but only a little. I love to play and sing.

I've been meaning to ask this:

If instrumentals are accepted, but all submissions must be original, how can you write an original, holiday-themed instrumental?

Can you use traditional melodies, but in an original arrangement? Such as Mannheim Steamroller, or Trans Siberian Orchestra?

Otherwise, what's to make an instrumental 'holiday-themed'?
