I wonder if the custom winders here on AGF can help you out? I know those QC are a bit of a pain.

I have some from my Chavels. They probably aren't paf but definitely sounded nice. Let me know if you were interested.

Just know that these are active pickups. I guess that I usually just associate the 2.

I could build a set, but there are no industry standards on the connectors and the first set has to be soldered in. Hmm - makes me think of a new product: good pots and switches which terminate in screw posts!

I am old school. Each contact point represents signal loss and potential for unreliability (crapping out at the worst time). In my mind, keeping the connections minimal, having good metal-to-metal contact with a fluid solder weld is the best.

When I was repairing heavily, many were mechanical failures of contact points.

I'd rather teach someone to do a good solder job, or do pre-wired for them.

I agree, BUT I really don’t want to gut this thing and start from scratch. I’d like use what’s already here for pots etc but do want a better pickup than what it came with.
I don’t mind putting cash out for pups but don’t want to be soldering and buying pots and caps etc at this point when it’s a “click” away ahaha.
Finding them locally in Alberta isn’t easy

I completely understand and hope some day for guitar players like yourself - the industry adopts a standrard.

I don’t know. But I would guess not.

Sorry, misunderstood the original question. I thought you were ISO a complete set solution (PUPs and harness).

My advice is to buy a pair of the Gibson quick connect harnesses and use some small terminal blocks or connectors like the ones below for testing. When you find what you want, solder to the new harnesses. That way you can try any pickup you want. I've been doing quick connects for a long time on guitars and use a mini gold plug system, but that requires up-front soldering.

I do miss soldering stuff and when these first came out I was a bit aghast lol but, one thing is it does make it a two minute job to swap a pup. Bad thing is to put this back to old school you have to replace all of it

These frighten quick connects aren’t the easiest to find new here seems a lot are discontinued
Why would Gibson make a drastic change to electronics only to have them vastly unavailable?
I’m still looking for a QC Bridge pup for this and getting annoyed at every guitar store telling me these are unavailable
I’m looking at my soldering iron now and about to say piss on it the works are coming out! Ahahaha
