Some of you know I have been unloading gear like crazy. As I have settled into the twilight of my rock stardomness I have made the decision to pare down the herd. My first emphasis was to start selling guitars made offshore. I want to get down to no more than a dozen. In that dozen there will be no more than 3 imports. I think I am down to about 6 imports now and I know 3 that I will have to keep for gigging. The rest will be Gibson guitars.

I had 20+ amps but have sold a bunch. I still have a bunch to sell. I would like to get down to 5 with all made in USA but I could make an exception for my vintage Traynor YBA-1, still deciding. I realized that one amp that I have coveted and wish to have in the 5, I did not own, the Ampeg Reverberocket. A friend had one of the late 90's reissue models made in USA and I loved the tone. I never could find a deal on one. I did eventually get the J20 which is a great amp but it is foreign made and does not have the reverb Ampeg is known for like the Reverberocket.

I saw one on fleabay last week with a very reasonable starting bid. I bid the opening amount and won!!!! 17 watchers and no one bid but me. It was in Tallahassee and the owner immediately messaged that he would refund half the shipping if I would meet him so I did. Now the final 5 will is set.

Here is a couple of pics. It fits nicely into the road case I got with my AC15 which will now be on the block. One owner, purchased new in the late 90's and the plastic is still on the control panel.

Dude if I had the spare cash I'd be all over that AC15. One of my all time favorites!

Congrats on the new amp and good luck getting the herd thinned to your liking.

Now I've gotta go watch vids on your new amp - not familiar with that exact one but if you like it I'm certain it kicks ass.

That Traynor is pretty nice. You should get rid of it.

Like the Ampeg, but I can't believe you're losing the AC15! Talk about iconic amplifiers.

Congrats on getting a Holy Grail amp. I hope it is everything you wanted and I hope to hear it with The Tonebenders sometime now that I'm back in Florida!

Finding that special piece of gear that scratches the itch is a pretty awesome feeling. May you enjoy it for a long time to come!

congrats on finding that amp. I thought perhaps it was one from the 60's. This one will not need a complete rebuild like many of those from the 50's and 60's seem to do.

BTW I have had cataract surgery to both of my eyes. I need cheaters to read print, but I can finally see for the first time in 3 years. Just in time to die in a nuclear attack. Oh, what fun life is :). I still have migraines; 3 to 5 times a week and they now have a narcoleptic tendency. When I get a migraine I go to sleep for 6 to 8 hours. I cannot control the sleep. It comes over me and within 20 minutes to one half-hour, I am out.

Sorry for the short thread hijack!

    HNAD!

I know very little about amps, but that one looks super clean for a twenty year old amp. That's cool that you are putting together you dream inventory of guitars and amps.

My bandmate had an Ampeg. He moved and it was the only amp he kept. It sounded glorious.

Very nice, I don't know if I've heard any of their amps that didn't sound good.
