    Hey guys,

I came across this cheap SGR but unfortunately, the sparkle red just isn't doing it for me so I'm thinking of some paint ideas (DaVinci would be proud):

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks!

Thanks guys! I'm looking for alternatives for duct tape but so far I'm digging the Scandinavian look.

Make that white tape and you have the Danish flag.

Yeah if ever I go for painting, that would be my pick too.

    I'm still studying how.

Do I just paint right over it or do I need to strip the paint first and put primer, base coat and finally clear coat?

Again, I'm also looking into decals.

I don't know if you're a member of tdpri.com but I remember reading at least one really great guitar refinishing tutorial over there. There's probably quite a few, it's been a while. I would search for it but I'm too lazy right now. :D

I like option 4 the best with option 1 coming in second.

Option 2 for me. Maybe even with some other striping in the black area.

I am not a stripe guy. If it were mine - Cordovan brown w/ metallic gold flake (which is on a comeback with cars)

Ya I'm not a stripe guy either but refinishing a guitar is a huge pita so I've decided to be content with stripe decals

I have a Callisto Jr in almost the same color and I'm really thinking about attempting a refin. Red is not my fav color for a guitar and somehow I ended up with three of them!

Yeah same here. It's either black, wood, wood + sunburst, maybe white for me.

Refinishing is a MAJOR job tho from what I've seen online. You need to remove the neck and all hardware, strip the paint until bare wood, apply primer, paint, apply clearcoat, final sanding for an even surface....that's a LOT.
