I regularly attend a weekly jam night, but I never play. I play daily at home, but you know...

So I finally mustered the courage to play tonight. My much more experienced friends (vocals, bass, drums) indulged me in a performance of "What Is And What Should Never Be".

Of course my performance was rough, but at least I didn't puke or pass out! lol

    I'll definitely do it again!!

Gear: My Agile AL-3100MCC through the host's awesome Soldano amp. (Plus my shaky fingers.)

But the Agile and Soldano sound great when I'm not getting in the way. (y)

    Great tones! Really enjoyed that.

    One question:

How'd you guys get Myles Kennedy to sit in on vocals? Man, what a voice!

I remember all those years I was crippled by stage fright, playing only at home.

There's no turning back now and good job with as tough song.

i definitely remember the first time i played in front of a real audience. i was a ball of nerves, but survived. if you give it a few more tries, you will be HOOKED in no time. nothing quite like performing live

clip sounded pretty smooth to me. nicely done! how'd that applause feel?

that sounds like a great gig opportunity for you to jump in on whenever you're feeling up to it

Great job, guitar sounds great. I remember my first "gig" at a junior high assembly right after school. We played in front of the whole school and I was CRAZY nervous. It all goes away about 30 seconds into the first song though.

Thanks! The applause genuinely felt good.
And yes, I'm lucky to have found a good niche in the local scene. I go to this weekly event because the host band is amazing. It was a privilege to take the stage with them.

Oh, it's a woman. Seriously, I thought it was a man with incredible power and range. She's got some fantastic voice.

I know that feeling too. My last "performance" was in high school. Gym full of audience, and I played Kashmir along with a full orchestra.

That was quite good. I rember the first time I played in front of an audience, I was afraid to turn my amp up enough so all could hear. Another band member turned it up. I was the lead guitar player after all. Seems it was needed to be heard. No turning back for you now

That was pretty cool! It sounds the way rock 'n' roll is meant to be... in a bar, with the audience so close you can see and hear every one of them.

That's a great recording. Thanks for posting... you're hooked now, you'll be out there every weekend.

    Thanks!!
Couldn't agree more. I'm spoiled and get to see a lot of live music. Cramped, loud bars are BY FAR my favorite venues.

Sounded really good, man! I played live to an audience once in high school--a friend in a band had a few of the other bands we hung out with over to his house one night and we all played in his garage to about 20 people in his driveway.

We started out with The Living End "Pictures in the Mirror," then Jimmy Eat World "Bleed American," and finally Silverchair "Tomorrow." Closed out the whole "show" with my band and a couple of the guitarists playing "Freebird" with me on slide (not because I could really play, but because I was the only one who owned and had used a slide before). Probably sounded atrocious, but it was fun.

Haven't been in a band or played live since. Definitely should get back into it...

I don't remember the first time for me. I was on or around the stage way before preschool.
