While bonding and enjoying my '72 RI Thinline I always had a nag in the back of my mind for single coils. Nag no more! Traded the Tele for this last night:

Did a rudimentary setup late last night because it played like poop! Fret buzz sauce all over the board. Tweaked the truss rod and adjusted the saddles and voila(!) Plays beautifully! I'll need some time to bond and get to know but initial reports are encouraging.

It is and I might keep it that way! Never have before but, hey, less trouble!

Nice guitar! Are the pics before or after you set it up? The intonation looks interesting.

Congrats! Beautiful guitar. I could never bond with strats until I started repositioning the volume knob closer to the 5 way switch. Viola! Love them now.

I did just a quick setup, saddles, truss rod and strings. I'll complete the setup this weekend but at least I can play it now while i wait!

Was just referring back to the Dream strat. You went full circle - well kind of. Don't get me wrong...I've got a 2012 Am Standard strat and it's a forever keeper for me too. Just pulling your leg a little ;-)

Yep, full circle! Lol! I've come to the conclusion that if I owned Gilmour's Black Strat that the right deal could still part it from me! Lol! I really hope I do keep this one...it really resonates in the hands! Even more than the other examples I've owned that I thought were resonant. Can't wait to get home and play!

Nice looking strat, congratulations. But are you sure it isn’t a partscaster? Shouldn’t an American Standard have a 2 piece body and a full size block?

Never mind. Looks like they have been using 3 piece and even 4 forever. Probably only special models are 2 piece. Rock on!

I was a little disappointed that the 3 pieces weren't matched better but it plays so sweetly I just can't bring myself to care now. This has that copper infused block, not sure if I'll do anything with it or not. If I start using the trem I will likely opt for a block offering pop-in arms.

    HNGD!

Beautiful, but I am biased. I have a 1996 Fender American Standard Stratocaster that is identical, with exception of mind has a maple fretboard. Curiously, I haven't played it in forever and played it last night.

I'll post a pic when I get home.
