A new AGF Member Participation contest! I will be awarding a couple of Well-Hung Guitar straps at the end of summer 2017 to a couple of creative community members.

It's campfire/patio/deck season, a fantastic time to hone up your acoustic chops and woodshed something special for those hot summer Saturday nights. Work it out, put it up, get yourself firmly in the hunt for a share of the Well-Hung spoils.

Contest closes for entries end of August.

    TWO Prize Categories

    1. One Random Draw, each valid entry into this thread gets a ballot in the draw. First week in September. Go 'head - enter as often as you like. 3 minutes of raw acoustic guitar tuning up noise and some random vocalizations, gets a ballot, but may go viral LOL

    2. One Community Choice Draw. I will pick the Top Ten (if more than ten enter), the winner out of those choices will be vote-chosen by AGF poll.

    Dem Rulez:
Solo acoustic covers (or originals) w/vocal, minimum 3 minutes length gets you in draw 1.
For draw 2, I will judge on approx. 50% song choice/interpretation, 35% interesting location and 10% performance for the top ten. The other 5%? Maybe it will be how cool your dang hat is, or if you got your neighbors yelling at you in the background.

As you will see below I'm probably not the very best judge of performance, but I'll try my to pick an interestingly suitable finalist group for the AGF community to consider . Video entries will be preferred over audio only, mostly because they're way more interesting and strengthen our community more than audio only. I will not put multiple entries by the same member in the final top ten for Community Choice, but this does not rule out a creative medley as an entry. Multiple entries per member can only happen in draw 1. There is a possibility for a double win.

Throw your submissions into this thread. I encourage lots of entries, chatter and bumping by AFG members who actually play some guitar and not just post they changed the knobs out on the strat or got a hot new pedal in last week.

"Use Me" was appropriate for me here in the TVvoodoo garden shed, because i am realizing how much of a slave I am to my damn yardwork LOL

Let's have some fun and rock 'em out...

Two chords and the motherlovin' troof

You're either bullshitting or sucking up early in the contest already That hot mess was the better of three stabs at it and even so I rule myself ineligible.

No BS here, I really liked the song. And also....

    1. I don't own a functional acoustic guitar.
    2. I wouldn't be able to play one very well if I did.
    3. I write grant proposals and computer programs, not songs :)

I will be spectating and voting this time around, I do really like this idea.

Is this how our resident AGF Rockstar thinks?
Borrow one dammit! you could be on the way to an AGF Trifecta!
Surely you can whip out the hokeypokey,

    C (x32010) | C7 (x32310) | F (xx3211) | G (320003)

    C
You put your right leg in. You put your right leg out.
    G
Put your right leg in and you shake it all about.

You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around.

    C
    That's what it's all about.

    C
You put your left leg in. You put your left leg out.
    G
Put your left leg in and you shake it all about.

You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around.
    C
    That's what it's all about.

    CHORUS:
    C
    Ho-key, hokey pokey
    G
    Ho-key, hokey pokey
    C C7 F
    Ho-key, hokey pokey
    G C
    That's what it's all about!

    OTHER VERSES:
    Put your right arm in...

    Put your left arm in...

    Ho-key hokey pokey...

    Put your nose in...

    Put your backside in...

    Ho-key, hokey pokey...

    Put your whole self in...

I MIGHT, I say MIGHT be able to carve out some little sliver of time over the next couple of months to do one if I can swing it. My acoustic has dust on it and I'm not sure if I can mount a Galaxy 7 on a tripod or not though.

    Okay, the required disclaimers:
    • Sorry about the vertical format. My dad recorded the video on his phone.
    • I had a bit of a rough start with my playing.
    • We were using one Bose L1 personal PA for the whole stage. Doesn't quite cut it.

Just got a new (to me) acoustic. Have a small PA system arriving today to throw into the garage for the kids and I to make noise with. The wife bought a GoPro recently, and I've yet to try it out.

    I'm running out of excuses.

What's all this talk about PA systems? Last time I checked, ain't no campsites and very few bush parties with house PA

Remember back when Bob Dylan shocked the arts world and played an amplifried electric guitar at Newport back in '65?
(I don't actually, I shocked the world the very next summer by being bornded - actually tomorrow is my B-52).

Anyway..... This. is. the. exact. opposite. LOL!

Ain't no-one got an excuse because it's too complicated
