can you muffle the ringing by touching the string between nut and tuner?

    I missed it. Sorry.

I'ld try string trees. They are inexpensive.
Sounds like string break angle after nut could be too flat. Strings are vibrating north of the nut. String trees will increase that break angle as they pull string down. Should help quiet string vibration there.

Yeah, I use two string trees. One to keep the string down, and one to keep it going the right direction.... LOL

i changed them, and no it did not help. in fact, it made it worse. that's to be expected really, as new strings are much more resonant.

Lots of people take a little pice of foam and put it under the strings behind to nut to solve exactly this problem.

If you really want the Jackson instead of the Epic, I would suggest you buy it. You could end up with the same issue, however.

i found the jimmy clip. also, i doubt it as the jackson's i want have floyd roses, which will minimize the sympathetic ringing due to the locking tuners.

You keep going on about the Jacksons you want, and add in that they all have Floyds, so why did you buy the hardtail Agile in the first place then?
