Look what I found on AliExpress
    http://s.aliexpress.com/32im2qqQ

I am thinking about rolling the dice on this guitar. It's made by a company called Ermik. Does anybody have any expirience with one of these? I know it's always a gamble, but for less than $150 I think it might be worth the risk. I plan on replacing the pickups with a set of GFS ones and some new tuners probably. Hoping to have a decent guitar for under $250.

Second question is this. This has a Fender logo on the headstock but I can have it removed or replaced. I was thinking about doing the word Faker in the Fender font. Do any of you talented people out there have the ability to do that on their computer. I've done a couple quick searches for a Fender looking font, but can't find one.

Most of these companies will leave a blank headstock or do a Custom one for you if ask when you order.

I know he will remove the logo. I didn't ask, I guess I will, if they would make a custom logo. I just assumed I would have to provide them with the graphic I wanted.

Here's how I've learned to look at it - They're paying about $100 to ship the guitar via express (air mail) so that shows you what price you're really paying for the actual guitar itself. A lot of import companies here in the US will be paying a decent amount more for the guitar's production than $48 (aiming for a bit nicer quality, components, etc), but they can still get it to you for $100-$130 because sea freight in bulk is only about $10-12 and UPS Ground is around $20.00. $30 is shipping costs vs. $100. More of your money is going to the guitar itself in this case, which is normally a good thing.

So for example, a $130 guitar from a US based company (lots of choices out there) will generally be nicer than a more expensive direct import Chinese guitar up to a certain point. In this case, probably around $175-180 for the direct import would be the "even point."

But if it's a color you can't find anywhere else, features, etc...then it's definitely your best shot!

Honestly, it is the color that I am after. I've been wanting another strat for awhile, and I have no yellow guitars, my favorite color. So this just seemed to be what I needed. Still not sure what I'm going to do.

Guitar Fetish makes a "Faker" decal along with others.

I figured that may be the case. In that case, you gotta go for it!

For that matter, GuitarFetish has a few Yellow strat bodies. Hardtail and tremolo route. This way you have more quality control than AliExpress. You're probably going to replace most of the hardware for the Ali-Strat anyway.

I have looked as those as well. It ends up being a good bit more to buy all the pieces. I guess not that much more if I have to replace all the hardware on AE guitar. That's why I was asking if anybody has ever had any experience with these guitars. Hoping to find somebody that has bought one and was happy with the body and neck. I don't know what I will do.

Buy a Squier Strat SE. You can pick them up for as cheap as $40-$50 if you watch for them and be patient. They show up all the time on shopgoodwill.com. They're the perfect mod platform and the necks and bodies are already great.

I have picked up my last two Classic Vibe strats really cheap from Craigslist. I got one for $125 with a mustang I and the other by itself for $130. I flipped them and that was only because I have too many strats already. That is why I am not likely to buy something like this. Just my two cents.

I say, if it has your blood pumpin' then go for it.

It looks like it has a flame maple neck, which is crazy fr the price.

It is a risk though. But the reward could be high, IF you get a good one.

If it really has that flame maple neck then go for it. Also are those marked as noiseless pickups? Hold them to it otherwise demand a big discount or a return.
It's true lots of banana colored teles claiming to be tv yellow but not a lot of screaming yellow strats.

It is supposed to have the flamed neck and noiseless pickups. If I do order it, I will confirm it before I buy it. The pickups I'm not that concerned with because I plan on replacing them anyways, but the neck is part of why I want this one.

Believe me, if they sound good, I'll leave them in there. I am just expecting them to be bad.
