Interesting guitars that are seemingly overpriced.

    Your thoughts?

Chinese-made guitars for $4-500? They look very cool, but that's higher than I would want to pay

    Wow tough crowd....

Pretty similar model to Alchemy Guitar Werks as I understand it.

I figured they got an A just for having some different shit you don't normally see, in respect to some of the finishes, options, styles...etc.

Shop these classifieds with the same budget for some unique guitars and tell me what you come up with.

Au Contraire! I see lots of Fender style screw on necks, water slide logos, f-holes and many square feet of top hiding pickguard material. And I see a serious lack of original head stock shapes, block inlays or ebony fret boards.

    More likely almost exact opposites.

Vaughan, the guy who runs Thin the Herd, lives five miles away. Hell of a guy, excellent tech. Having said that, the guitars he offers are really over priced for what they are. Not bad, just over priced. I was close to pulling the trigger on a zebra wood tele a while back, but I just couldn't. You are in used American Special territory with some of their guitars. No thanks.

There are so many of these "custom" guitar guys out there now it's kind of nuts. Let's face it, there is a HUGE glut of guitars on the market right now, at all price levels. If you want to compete, specially when your fiddles are imports, you best price them accordingly. I wish him success none the less. It takes some stones to even be in that segment of the market in this economy.

The main thing this website reminds me of is how I wish that I had been the one to develop CNC guitar building technology.

And you can't offer anything for sale here until you've got 100 posts under your belt.
Unless you get with @Jeffc and become a dealer.

Welcome to the forum Vaughn. This is a pretty close knit group. You might consider an introduction thread so we can get to know you better as it looks like you just became a member. If you do I think you'll find folks pretty responsive - not business manager responsive - but guitar enthusiast responsive.
