I thought we had a few people here who make custom pickguards but I can't remember who. I need a couple made for a G&L ASAT Special Tribute. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

Well I know where G&L gets their pick guards: Chandler AKA pickguard heaven. I’ve heard some negative reviews though so hopefully you don’t have to go that route.

Also what do you mean by custom. Carbon copy in a different color or something a bit more off the wall. 20160215_155115.jpg

Just a carbon copy. Tribute pickguards are different than USA ones. Can't find any of the shelf solutions. I'll send you a pm and hopefully we can work something out. Thanks

Send it to rmfroyd. We're lucky to have that guy around.

I've got around a half dozen little projects for him to do. He's about a half hour from me and I've been meaning to get down there as most would be a lot easier if he could take measurements from the actual guitar. Now that I'm cleared to drive following surgery, I'm going to try and take a trip down there with them sometime after Thanksgiving...

+1 for rmfroyd, but to side rail the thread, I'm glad you are cleared to drive. I was wondering the other day how you were rehabbing but didn't want to ask, figured you'd let us know.

Thanks for asking, I was up at the Mayo Clinic last Monday for the usual post-operative evaluation and they were pleased as punch. Improvement is incremental but that's the name of the game and it normally takes 4-6 months before you feel the full benefits of the surgery.

Mayo Clinic swag (toiletry items bag, spirometer and a heart shaped pillow:

You have the answer. There used to be a guy here that did pickguards as well. I think his name was Patrick but I cannot remember his handle. I bet @Mickey remembers him. He did amps too, he was always beefing up the little Epi amps. Anyone else remember this guy?

There was a guy named @TWANG who was on again, off again. He was an AGF old-timer but hasn't logged in since last March. IIRC, he was trying to sell all his pickguard material, Ryan responded, but he just disappeared again...

Yes, it was TWANG. I talked to him about it, but he had enough material to keep me in the PG business for about 50 years, and I have no interest in making it a full time business so it was a pass. I have no problem making you guys on the forum PG's, but I don't want it too be a full time gig.
