Well, Amazon Warehouse Deals got me again. This time the Guild S-100 Polara. I've wanted one for a while but they were always a bit too rich for me (bedroom bad player). AWD had it for almost half off so I jumped. I need to sell some guitars now.

Another club... Welcome to the S-100 club! Is that the right case though? Looks like it's made for a Starfire or something.
I'd love to try one of these sometime and see how they compare to my original. That would be a big factor in whether I end up getting one of the new Thunderbird reissues.

Thanks, I've had good luck with the warehouse deals so hopefully this is another.

Not sure on the case. That was just the pic on Amazon. We'll see what comes in. Don't really need it though.

    Thanks! I think so.

First thing I'll try is done soundgarden. Gotta try to learn something first though.

The white looks great but for the price I'm happy with the black.

Assuming that the quality is what I'd expect from Guild, you should love it. It's a lot like an SG, but it is a bit thicker and more substantial-feeling. You shouldn't have any neck dive with the heavier body. And sustain closer to that of a Les Paul than an SG.

Awesome! Thanks for that! Can't wait for it to ship (come on Amazon). For now I'll just leave this here.

WOW. That looks incredible. I've never even heard of these before...I live under a rock apparently. You should have lots of fun with it.

Thanks guys. I was/am a huge Soundgarden fan which is where I first saw it. When these Korean reissues came out they were still priced too high for me. Normally I'll debate a purchase for several days but I had checked out within minutes of seeing this one.

USPS tracking shows delivery on Monday!

    Arrr, me plunder has arrived.

Plays great and the pickups sound fantastic. In great condition with only a slight scratch on the back of the headstock. Case is really nice. Still got the plastics on, not bad for almost half off.

Hope to get outside pictures this weekend but for now.

Sounds fantastic. It makes me sound better than I am. The neck pickup is very responsive to volume and tone adjustments, the bridge less so but has a pleasant brightness, no ice pick.

Never touched a vintage s-100, or a real SG, just my Bacchus mango. Feels like my Bacchus SG but with a beefier neck joint and maybe not as pushed out to the left, if just a slight bit. I think I prefer my Bacchus but this is a close second, very close. This sounds better though.

Another reminder that I prefer SGs and offsets. I may just sell off all the others and buy an Gibson SG with P90s.

I would consider keeping that even if you do get an SG. They're different enough, and if the pickups are as good as the old ones, they're definitely different enough from Gibson humbuckers to have around.
    Glad you're liking it!
