Would love to check out their guitars. I found their site last year and was interested in some of their guitars and Bullbucker pickups but all of their lefty guitars, most of their regular guitars, pickups and other accesories have all been sold out on their US site since last year. I contacted them asking when they'll have the items back in stock and the response from them was that this was unknown.

I agree from the video they do look like really nice guitars.

Artist Guitars is an Australian company that is located in Sydney. They have a good reputation over here for quality entry level instruments.

I have been thinking about their Grungemaster but I already have too many guitars.

Shane who did the video has also reviewed a few Joyo pedals amongst other things, he seems to know what he is talking about. He reminds me of Rob Trek, the American bloke who gives good info about Olympus cameras.

FYI, Thomann offers a Harley Benton that looks almost exactly like the Grungemaster for $100 less. I've got one and it was very well built and playable right out of the box. Shipping is another matter though. To the US, it's a $35 flat rate charge which is good for 2-3 guitars, I have no idea what it would cost to get it shipped to Australia:

Thanks tobijohn, I have bought some stuff from Thomann, but that was when the Australian dollar was worth something.

I did consider getting the Harley Benton, if this is the one you refer to:

At present, with the flat $80 AUD shipping rate it would cost $340 to buy, whereas I could get a case with the grunge for less than that.

They do look very similar, maybe the main difference is alnico pickups for the Harley Benton and ceramic for the Artist guitar.

I never considered the exchange rate, are those prices on the Artist site in AUD or USD?

If that's the case, then in USD, that is some really decent pricing. I wonder what shipping to the US is?

The fine print says just within Australia. No way they're going to ship to the US for free...

Sorry, my bad. I was looking at the Australian site. It seems most of the stuff on the US site is sold out, the only thing available on the lefty page is a Strat package. FWIW, the headstock on the Gibson inspired suff looks exactly like the ones on Bargain Musician's site, including the kits....
