Today at an antique mall I scored another crazy bundle deal. Truthfully, most of the things in this place aren't bona fide antiques, though I have pulled some doozies out of there in the past. Nothing like today though. Say hello to Mom, Pop, and Kelly . . . Kelly Jackson that is. The Jackson guitar is a bolt on Kelly. It feels very nice, is missing the truss rod cover, and has some light superficial corrosion on the hardware. I think it looks gorgeous in white and has great potential. Wonderful, silky smooth neck on this thing. Serial number is NHJ1040321 for anyone who can decipher that. I'm curious to know when and where this was made. The two pieces of art are genuine Chinese ancestor portraits done on rice paper, probably from the 19th century. The subtle coloring and level of detail are absolutely stunning. These are truly fine art pieces, completely hand painted. I've never seen a more exquisite pair. If you have any idea what these things are, then you will know that paired with the Jackson I stole the lot at $140. Pop. Detail of Pop. Mom. Detail of Mom. Detail of dragon on Mom's robe.
