    Got a STD+, Vintage Burst.
Was going to wait for the Goldtop, but took a chance hoping the Vintage Sunburst would have the 1/2"
"maple" cap. This will house the last set of humbuckers

Just like the STD+ Cherry Sunburst b-stock from a few weeks ago, the STD+ Vintage Sunburst has the maple cap.

The veneer top looks great with some wood grain showing
    DSCN1985.jpg

The camera makes the brown transition from black to yellow look red. In real life the red isnt really noticable. It really looks like the black is thinning through a brown into the yellow burst.

Plays nicely, very light buzz on a few frets.
Action is medium, and may lower it a hair. So, might determine to do a light fret level but I bet not.

    7lbs 3.5 oz

The real news is that the Callisto STD+ Vintage Burst also has the 1/2" maple cap.
Having trouble uploading more pics, so thats it for now.

Im gonna say this is about as beautiful a Vintage burst plaintop as I could hope. I look at it and am really glad.

I was expecting a CUS at first. The name Callisto got me worked up.

Looks great! Take some pics in natural light for that fade to look normal. Indoor lighting doesn't do justice.

    How about a headstock pic?

Heres some more pics. Even outside, the fade area looks too red. I fiddled with my camera and found a setting that looks truer, although still emphasizes too red. Inside shot is closest to true.

After lowering action, with ample relief, I will address some buzz at 9-11 fret area with a likely shallow fret level.

Headstock is same as on other recent Callisto's.
Plastic film is still on all plastics and pickups.

Back side and neck look solid black, not transparent stain.

    Nut is 42mm

This shot is closest, but fade area is still actually more a brown, deep red, and not as reddish as below.
Nice grain down at butt does continue visibly upward through burst area, although, is strongest down lower.

This is to house my WCR Crossroads-N /Darkburst-B combo. I will still have one set of WCR Crossroads-N&B that will likely sit around, maybe into the FF338. Who am I trying to kid, maybe into a Callisto CUS Goldtop.

Killer set of pickups!! Cool guitar too. Neck is thick, thin, or middle?

Neck is very similar contour feel to Agile AL 3xxxx.

I have done a fret level on this one today.
I'ld say that if one can do a fret level and set up these are an awesome option, as they are cheap, look good, can be set up well, and sound very good with quality bluesy pickups. I chose to fret level 1/2 the ones I have.
For someone reticent about fret leveling, I'ld say these are a little buzz risk.

Nice! Set neck, maple cap.... that's a lot of guitar for about what a cup of coffee at Starbucks for a month costs.

And my favorite pickups sound warmer and fuller in these bodies than in any of my other LP type guitars.
    Lucky day. Dirt cheap.

Awesome- how does that weight feel? 7lbs with a nice full LP tone must be awesome

That's a nice looking guitar. I like the fact that your guitar has the real maple top. I have a Cort CR300 very similar in color to yours and it too has a plain maple top with slab of real maple.

Heads up SX Callisto fans. New Callisto CUS Goldtops are in and come with the natural double bound back rather than gold paint everywhere. I knew those 2011 rondo pics could be incorrect. Sure enough these are same as on SX current site. I got one coming. I'll post about it soonish.

That would be my question about it as well. My one disappointment with Agile LPs has been their ponderous weight as compared to other brands of LP-ish guitars.
