Why'd you go out of your way to repeat the same thought you had on May 1st about it, right after I said I bought it? I think they look pretty sweet each their own I guess

Matte black done right is a timeless finish.

It isn't my favorite on a car (too much surface area), but on a motorcycle where it is broken up fender/tank/fender especially a minimalist bobber or cafe racer, it is nice.

I had a matte finish on my Harley Benton LTD EC ripoff. It was not done right and looked crappy.

Also I wonder if it will shine up in wear areas over time like my matte finished Gibson SGJ did.

All good, I just recognized your avatar pic from earlier in the thread and thought you were coming back just to take a dig at me for buying it. Honestly I think it'd look better with MOP but it had literally everything else I was looking for. I'll have MOP to look forward to if I ever upgrade to the 3200

Agile does have a nice abalone which pairs well with the brownbursts like 2ts and rootbeer. Funny thing with me MOP and MOTS are pretty much interchangeable. To my mind all inlays would look better at the same length but about 1/3 the height, but that's just my set of aesthetics. And nice guitar.

Umm got the shiny one used for $200, like new. So many other guitars in that price range rather have. $ 150 less and I would consider.

Many times I make a comment early on and it will invariably place down somewhere where it will try and make me look like an asshole. Also anytime I try and answer a post directly above me 3 more posts will slip in between just to make me look stupid. I just assume it works for everyone that way.

    No? Just me? :)

Fat Jack and Partscaster you are right, it actually is a very nice looking abalone. Never knew I liked a matte finish guitar until I saw this, and never realized I liked an abalone inlay until I got it..it's been a weird week. It has a small cosmetic flaw on the fretboard finish that is annoying but I don't mind too much. The off white single binding looks fantastic and doesn't have a speck of paint on it anywhere.

Oh nice! I almost picked that up myself once I saw it listed as B stock, haha. I'd love to see pics once you get it!

I agree matte can be an acquired taste. I got my matte AL3200 basically because, being a b-stock, it was a more affordable way to try a neck thru... but I LOVE the look:

Very sharp, I have really come around to these guitars. I'll try to get a better picture of mine in some sunlight this week, it's been hard to stop playing it

HmZK02s.jpg These are the best pictures I've been able to get so far. I've been playing it heavily since I got it, and it's an absolute keeper. This is my first LP-style guitar coming from the world of strats and "super" strats, and this blows them out of the water. Even playing it unplugged, it's obvious how musical it is with great sustain. I love how the ebony fretboard is solid black without any lighter colored grain marks.
