Went t see David Crosby last night. Music and mix were great. He seemed to stay away from a lot of the more recognizable CSN music unfortunately...

His band was exceptional! Especially his guitar player, Jeff Pevar and the bass player Mai Leisz.

Here are a few crappy cell phone pics (I thought iPhone took better pics...)

    Nice.

You got to go see the (indie?) movie "Laurel Canyon" by Jacob Dylan...

"Echoes in the Canyon" to be exact. I saw the film a few weeks ago - I thought is was fantastic.

The new film "David Crosby: Remember My Name" opens in Nashville on August 30th. I'm looking forward to that as well.

Meanwhile, I'm going to see this some rainy afternoon in the next few days:

The Crosby doc is playing at the theater near me. I'm tempted but the Tarantino flick is closer.

The Laurel Canyon doc is good. I could have done without all the kids performing & listened to more storytelling from the artists but it was worth it. Crazy all that talent in one small area at the time.

Here's a link to another great film nobody has seen about my pal Bobby Keys. Snippets of interviews and the story Bobby tells during the closing credits were actually shot at my house. If you are interested, I'd watch this quickly, because this film never stays posted long. I don't know if the music licenses are not quite right or what, but this will disappear and re-appear sporadically. It was actually on youtube last week for less than 24 hour. About 8,000 views last I checked:

Awesome. We had David Crosby at my place of employment this summer. I thought the concert was very good. We catered for him before the show. He's kind of a grumpy guy.

I watched the CNN special last week on 50 years of Woodstock or something like that. An interviewer asked Graham Nash how as CSN&Y they could make all of that great music together and now don’t like one another. Without hesitating Nash said, “no, just David Crosby.” Some obvious bad blood there.

Glad you saw a good show. I want to see that movie too.

He actually did admit during the show that the reason got kicked out of the bands he’s been in is because he was such an asshole.

I've been "Power Watching" Netflix and Amazon Prime video during my recovery. I recently watched a doc about Woodstock, which was super well done, and very interesting. I had no idea that CSN or was it CSN&Y, sang together for the very first time at Woodstock. When I listen to that music, it sounds like they've been together for a long time. Just about perfect harmony. I always enjoy going to shows to see the musical icons of my youth. Many, if not most of them sound better now than they did when i was a youngster. I never got the chance to see David Crosby, but if i did, I'd be all over it. Sounds like a great show, Spike. Thanks for the pics, brother.

Great doc. Bobby & Mick Taylor - the Stones golden years. I'm forwarding this to my infamous sax playing co-worker.
