Wife says i feel like baby backs and chicken on the Weber. Being the good husband i am, I say okay. Head out to the yard to throw some charcoal in the kettle and get err going. We have a big digital thermometer out there. 106 degree where we're at. Humid as all get out too.

In 15 minutes, I think I lost 5 pounds through sweating. This is like Florida in July. I love living here because of the radical extremes in temp. However, today it's just stupid hot.

Is this heat wave nationwide, or just a Midwest thing. I could literally see the heat waves rising up from the farm fields. These poor farmers are getting crushed with low prices already, and now this. Yikes.

Happy long 4th of July weekend to all my AGF brother's and sister's. Stay hydrated, and stay safe. Use that sunscreen too.

Hot & humid in St. Louis - heat index on my west-facing deck is 118 and I am cooking on the charcoal as well!

Shows 72 for me but I think it's been more like 80 today.
It's been sweet this month. First time my solar panels are generating more than I use on avg. The days are long and sunny but it's cool enough so no ac. This month I've generated 150 more kwh than I've used. Very nice

This week was the warmest week over here since about 1976. Mercury cracked 30c (86F) a few times ...which may not seem excessive by US standards but is pretty exceptional when you consider the warmest ever recorded in Ireland was 33.3C (92F) measured in 1887!

Now I know why so many of my ancestors moved over here from Ireland.
The potato famine had nothing to do with it! :)

I'll make you Yankees a deal. We Southerners won't make fun of you whining about a little heat if you will quit giving us shit about hating Winter and not being able to drive on an inch of snow in the Winter.

Yep, and I have to cut the "grass" tomorrow. Needless to say, that mower is firing as early as I can get out there. After that, air conditioning me friend good.

The cold front just blew through here about an hour ago. Temp went from 94 to 73 in about 45 minutes along with a nice little storm. Feels nice now

There you go, John. Relief is just a couple hours away. While it was actually hotter up there today than it was in South FL, it doesn't stay that way for very long. Down here, the heat and humidity are relentless, that's why I'm moving back to the Chicago area. People think I'm crazy to go back to a real winter but the way I look at it, it's three months of intolerable weather up there vs. nine months of intolerable weather down here...

We drove from the UP of Michigan down to Kentucky (not far from Cincinnati) today, and it was hot and hotter. We're headed the rest of the way to Hotlanta tomorrow but at least we have air conditioning that works down there.
