$180 is what I paid for it shipped from guitar center. Ive never seen a liquid like this before and always wanted to own one. I figured I should jump on it fast. I feel like I overpaid when Kurt told me he would sell me a lake placid blue one with maple neck for $149 shipped. Do you guys think I did good on this or did I pay too much?

Seeing as how new from Rondo they're around $180-$200 shipped, some might say perhaps. But paying $180 shipped for a rare and unusual one like that (natural ash, P90s TOM), IMHO, absolutely not. That's one of the nicest ones I've seen. I've already got two Liquids (VW with humbuckers and a LPB triple P90) but If I saw an identical one to that in a lefty dexterity, I wouldn't hesitate....

So it is a rare one then? I never saw one like it before and figured that I should jump on it right away... just something didnt make me feel right about the price I paid for it though. I guess I feel alot better now that I know its a rare and unusual one!

I haven't seen many in natural ash and I've never seen one in the wild with P90s, a TOM and stop bar. I'm sure there will always be CL deals but $125 +shipping is about as low as I've ever seen any Liquid go for on eBay/Reverb...

The $30-40 you "overpaid" by is well worth it for the convenience of this being GC, where you can easily return it for a full refund without having to worry about shipping it back or any other headaches.

Also yours has a bound neck, which is sweet.

Let us know how you like it when it arrives :)

I feel good about it then. Now I need to call them up and preach to them about doing a good job at packing it, the last guitar I got from a guitar center in albany, NY wasnt packed to well and got a bit of damage to it last time I dealt with a guitar center shipping something to me.

Here's someone who got a b stock version of yours a while back: https://www.aguitarforum.com/thread...-delivered-and-snuck-into-the-basement.98058/

I did find the pics and the correct Rondo sale page but it 404s when you open it up.

I can't recall seeing any dual P90 Liquid with a traditional TOM setup, they all seem to have the tremolo. That bound neck too is not the usual either...

EDIT: someone on 8/3/16 posted a pic of one exactly like the OP's on TGP (post #23):

Im very happy I found one with a TOM setup. I would like another one just like this one with humbuckers if I can find one for a decent price.

You didn't pay too much. I have a recent one almost just like it, but mine has the wangulator. I think they are pretty rare so if you want one, you have to shoot first and ask questions later. That's what I did.

Here's a tip: You probably need to raise the bridge P90 quite a bit. You can find threads about that on the internet - there's a couple of fairly easy ways to do it. Makes a huge difference! Rock 'n' Roll!

Here's a follow-up of post about my ash Liquid:

Very cool what you did there... quick question though, do the P90s on this guitar not raise and lower like standard humbuckers with pickup height screws?

Maybe you paid what it cost new, but big deal, especially when you don't see a particular model come around very often, if at all.

Cool looking Liquid. It'd be unreal if that had the SJM headstock.

I've got that same guitar and bought it new from Rondo. At the time It was $160 plus shipping, so right about the same thing you paid for yours. Since it is not a common model that only shows up now and then you did fine.

Also, this model has a sweet bound maple neck and an Ash body, not an Alder body like the LPB one. It has a much higher quality build as well.

I have a right handed old SX style headstock neck that would look awesome on this. Maple board, offset black dots, and of course the old SX style headstock ;)

The Ash series SX guitars are some of the best they produce. They are worth every penny in my experience.

As long as you love it, you paid basically the new price. A bit over pay, but if it is in excellent condition, and they are relatively rare you weren't ripped off by any means.

I bought a SJM new from Rondo when they were blowing out the SJMs for ~$80. Sold it and later bought a used one from GC for $125+tax and shipping. In that case, I paid more than the guitar likely cost new, but I was still happy with it.

I wouldn't part with mine for less than double what I paid. I have some guitars that cost 10x what I paid, yet the old SJM still comes out of the case regularly.
