Plus a Crafted in Korea Protone Squier Strat I picked up for $70 recently.

But first some sweet, purple Tele goodness.

I decided to take a few pics after work. May have waited until the light waned too much but it's still a pretty good representation. My first road worn and I really like it. Was worried about the 7.25" radius but it's all good. Possibly because of the vintage tall frets or whatever Fender calls them. It just plays like butter. (I hate food analogies when it comes to guitars and gear [e.g., "creamy] but it seems appropriate here.)

The jury is still out on the Tex Mex pickups. Another first for me, these pups are. I may replace them with a SD Vintage Broadcaster in the bridge (fav tele pup EVER) and Twisted Tele in the neck. We'll see.

    On to the pr0n:

Here's the '97 Squier Strat. I know @jam wanted to see more pics of this. Both guitars came with quality gig bags, too. The pics aren't great due to the reflections. Other than some minor dings, it's in really nice shape. These guitars are known for full-thickness, solid wood bodies, quality bridges, saddles, full-sized trem blocks, nice electronics with full-sized pots, etc. The neck and middle pickups are pretty decent, which I had read. I have a Pearly Gates laying around which is probably going in the bridge.

I never had the stock pickups on my roadworn but liked the way it played and felt in Eb tuning. I traded it for something I like more, but it certainly wasn't a bad guitar. Protone for $70 is crazy good. I think they're worth upgrading.

What is that fret board mark down around 19/20 on the purple one? Fabulous purple goodness for sure!

I wish! Danish Pete plays a very expensive custom shop tele. I basically did fall in love with his when I saw it. Then Fender just happened to release this exclusively to GC, MF, and they sent a few to Anderton's. When I saw it I knew I needed one.
