Does it have to be that one brand or can fakes and knockoffs do?
This is my only real one, a '66 with a '60s hippy strap too

Fakes & knockoffs are encouraged & welcome! We are AGF after all. As long as it has the Firebird spirit in shape.

I heard that. It is obvious what must be done. Now it's only a matter of when and where.

I know. I have a homebuild guitar that is Firebird-eeq and that is my excuse for not buying one. That "I already have somehting very close." Then I see those banjo tuners and I drool.

Copy only. This is my washburn ps10
Paul stanley tribute model. They had to discount heavily before I'd consider it.
It's actually a fine guitar. Ebony board, plays great.
I do have a love-hate relationship with the pups. Well a tolerate-hate relationship. I really need to decide on a replacement pup. Looking for alnico 2 or 3 fb pups at a discount price.

I hate painted guitars so 1 reason I bough this was the hope of what's underneath. Like this
    a05e73991ac537b5ce2d86c73e378e87.jpg
I had a shot at a 16 gibson fb for about 950. I really liked it but if I'm dropping 1k on a guitar it should be acoustic where it counts.

Can't speak for the pricing, but Buddha Tim knows a Firebird pickup.

We talked. He said he could only do $50 ish for an a5. I was thinking more an a2 or 3. And 50 is steep when I've never even played a vintage fb. Don't know if I even like the tone. I can get a set of a5 fb pups for 30 ish on ebay. I'm sure Buddha is better but I don't know I can tell. I'm actually pretty versatile about what I can like. I don't have a set idea about what it should sound like. I like my sx ash tele pups. As long as I don't expect it to sound like a tele. I did see stumac had a fb a2 or 3 kit for 50 but then even more cost to have it wound. Anyway it's not like I don't have lots of guitars to play :)

The real deal is beautiful. As crazy as the specs are on the current Fb pup. I usually find them to be decent sounding. My fb copy pups are actually a very vintage like 6k but they sound like high gain buzzsaws.

Yeah, they get a bad rap but just out of curiosity, I was thinking of picking up a used set. I'd need something routed for two P90s though and currently, I don't have one that doesn't already have upgraded pickups in it...

$50 is a great deal for an authentic spec'd custom built FB pup.

Just get a bridge pup to start?

Neck dive like a mofo even with super grippy Well Hung strap. Think I'm gonna move the button to one of the neck bolts.
