Be sure to post pics of the process. The two I have only have the spider inlay at the 12th fret. Let me know if you find a color that's close. I just slapped together a LP Junior P90 and I want to go with Pelham Blue. I was going to paint it TV yellow but I got the Firefly DC in that color.

Will do but it might be a while. The harness seems good enough as do the stock pickups but I'll be replacing them with set of Gibson DS-Cs out of one of their low end Firebirds. I'm not going to bother stripping it down to bare wood, I'm just going to give it a good sanding and primer. If you want to go ahead and start before me, I did a little research and a lot of people think the Duplicolor below is really close to Pelham Blue:

OK, thanks! The white is kinda cool but there’s a lot of dings, etc.

I would love to land something like this:

Sometimes I think it is weird that a big, overweight, shorthaired guy like me digs shredder guitars as much as I do. I gotta be me.

That Crosby Jackson Firebird is/was for sale on ebay. Take a look. It might be cached on google.

I would probably just do a build. Cheaper for sure, and theoretically easier.

I might do two pickups too.

Is Reranch still open? They had a decent nitro Pellham Blue.

Me too, maybe I'll go with purple on my HLK Spider and save the Pelham Blue for an old style matte black HB L-400 LP...

Damn it, this thread is inflaming my GAS. There's a guy with a pretty nice Dillion in my area who seemed tentatively interested in trading it for my Marshall SL-5...

The older style Dillion Phoenixes with the control layouts like the Gibson are great guitars (I can't speak for the second generation ones) but the SL-5s (I have one too) are collectors items and while it was over a year ago since I checked, they were going for a premium over the new price the short time they were available. IMHO, if you were going to trade, I think it would be the Dillion and at least $100 for your amp...

It is one with the Gibson control layout (four knobs, not exactly a square, kind of a "kite" shape I guess), and the guy just dropped the price by a good bit. There's a New Phoenix on Reverb for $599, but this guy is asking a lot less. Dammit. Now if I were to sell my SL-5 I could probably get the Dillion and the Orange Micro Dark I was looking at...

(While I like the SL-5 a lot, it's really bulky and heavy for what it is. I have a bigger amp+cabinet for large shows, and smaller amps for home practice, so the SL-5 is a bit stuck in the middle. But the Micro Dark and a smaller cabinet would be a nifty solution for smaller gigs, and I'd have the Dillion. The only SL-5 on Reverb right now is listed at $780, which seems really high to me - I paid $500 for mine.)

Well a trade isn't always about equal dollar value, if it works for both parties than it's a good trade. And you are right about the weight of the SL-5, those things are heavy. IIRC, I paid around $450 new for my SL-5 on a closeout from one of the online big boys and no more than $300 shipped for my lefty Cardinal Red Dillion (pic in previous post #164) but the latter was one of those under-priced GC Used outliers...

You need a set of the Steinberg tuners for this - just because!
