It was a very bizarre conversation to be honest, I didn't ask for anything - just reported the issues after I had already sent the guitar back per a recommendation by Diana ( the mod at the firefly fan page ). But if a guitar does eventually show up I'm not going to complain ;-)

@uwmcscott you nailed it with the "ultimate supremecy" statement. That group is really something lol! I unfollowed it an now only glance over for any news on a real LP coming, which there is zero news on.
No gas whatsoever on these dc/jr guitars for moi.

Supposedly the "next shipment' is going to be the 338's again in mid-august. But then again this latest load of thinlines and DC's was alleged to be a full container of 800-1000 units. There's no way in hell they sold that many in about 2 hours. My guess is there were a couple hundred at most, maybe 30 or so of each of the varieties.

But hey - i'm not turning down a free guitar! If it shows up that is....

Why does everyone refer to them as 338's? They look like a 335 size to me.

F338 is the actual model number. As to "why" ? I dunno...go ask the facebook crazies if you dare ;-)

I read somewhere the 338's are between the 335's and 339's in size.

Mine was like that when it showed up today. I had to move it forward to intonate it so it’s fine now.

My double cut showed up today (on my neighbor’s porch). After setting it up it plays great, no fret sprout or high frets. The pickup sounds really good too. Tuners are nice and smooth. They could’ve spent more time on the finish. From an angle you can see sanding marks where they should’ve gone over it with some finer grit before the clearcoat. The color is bright enough that it’s not really all that noticeable.

That's the one I really wanted. Congrats, mkgearhead! When I went on the Amazon app Friday morning around 9:15, they had already sold out. If you don't mind me asking, what time did you buy yours?

    You are the man mk.

I keep looking at the silverburst image with the wraparound pushed all the way back & it turned me off. I might bite. If the burst is horrendous I might just take all the finish off & re-do, something that crossed my mind for my Agile DC.

No one will measure the neck. What gives? Are they skinny? Baseball bat? In between?

    What's the weight?

I guess everyone's gonna make me order one to find all this shit out.

Well, I don't have any calipers here, but I can tell you what it's not. It's not a Gibson 60's slim taper neck. If I had to guess, I'd say it's closer to a 50's chunkier neck. However, I've never owned a guitar with a 50's style neck on it before so I can't tell you for sure that it is.

I’ll try to get some measurements tonight. The neck is pretty chunky though.

I allegedly have a white DC single pickup on the way. If/when it arrives I'll gladly measure and weigh it.

OK, so it’s .925” at the nut and .965” at the 12th fret. The nut is 1.710” wide, so just a little over 1 11/16”.

3 more Silverbacks showed up late last night but I still couldn't bring myself to order knowing how bad the bridges look off. They're all gone now (again). I have my Agile so I don't know why I'm looking.
