As I mentioned in a previous thread I'm looking at kits to build and got curious about the Flaxwood kit BYO has for sale. I see them on Ebay for close to $2500 new so if I really want one this kit would be at least $1500 less should I decide to get it. I was thinking of getting one with the Burst finish already on it and also with the neck already done so All I gotta do is glue it together and install the hardware. I know its the lazy way but I'm not sure I'm ready to do frets myself yet and I really like the Burst finish they have on it. Not to mention that there is no differance in price from the finished or unfinished body. One problem though is the kits are only P90 routes and I like at least one Humbucker, so I may call them monday and see if I can get one that way.
I just wondered if anyone here had tried one?

Well if it doesn't improve your tone perhaps it will at least lower your cholesterol.

Getting something custom made always drives your price up. There are plenty of soapbar sized humbuckers available.

Interesting sort of soylent green guitar. I like a lot of the concepts and maybe the look with the mottling. I was just playing a bamboo bodied acoustic the other day. Lots of similar concepts and it had a decent tone iirc.

The neck looks interesting but the more I look at it the more I think plastic guitar even though it has some wood in it, back to the drawing board me thinks.

I believe Flax seed while good for lowering cholesterol makes a terrible guitar neck.
