Well, had to make a new thread, new year and all that. First up, a Carvin bass head. 80's early 90's? $25. Model of PB-300, which is 300 watts, into 2 ohms though. USA made Carvins and Peaveys will still be working in 2112. Was missing 2 knobs so i used a few cheap aliexpress pedal knobs. Scratchy pots but it works fine. Not even going to change the caps, they appear fine. Trading fodder or craigslist is in it's future.

Next up is some stuff i got at a hamfest in NJ on saturday. $10/ box. Must have been from the glory days of Lucent, AT&T, engineering lab. I actually worked for them for a few years when they opened a small plant here, they left after all the local tax breaks and such expired. There were more boxes and i should have bought them but 2 was enough to sneak into the garage. SMD components, hi freq rf stuff, surface mount tiny stuff, fiber optic parts, 1% resistors, connectors, xtals, lots more. Mostly eBay fodder but the IEC connectors and the resistors will go in my stash for amp builds.

Old speaker cabinet with a 12" Rola field coil speaker, it's got tons of mojo, mold and flying tolex, sure i will figure something out for it.

Found a guy selling a 97 Squier Pro Tone (Crafted in Korea) HSS Strat in nice shape with a heavy duty gig bag on Letgo. Got it for $70. I only have the pics from the ad for now.

I'm going to want to see a lot more of this one when you get it, or at least when you take more pictures.

Man, I never find crap. All I ever find is bottom-of-the-barrel Ibanezes and the cheapest of cheap practice amps. One pawn shop guy proudly touted his Marshall half-stack...the head was an MG100FX. As always, I envy those of you who actually find good stuff.

Trust me, for every decent deal I snag, there are 250 that are either way overpriced, or the missing link that posted it, a) sold it and doesn't care to take down the ad (or just outright ignores me so I have no idea if the item is available or not), b) doesn't know how to communicate online, beyond listing the initial ad or, c) all of the above. I spend way more time perusing CL, FB Marketplace, Letgo, and OfferUp than I should but that's usually why I see these things. It's a disease.

Found a guy locally selling an interesting-looking Washburn "S" style for $75 and couldn't resist. Looked it up and it's a MIK Mercury II Series MG821 (made only in 1994) with a gorgeous book-matched flame maple top, Alnico V humbuggies with a push-pull tone pot for splitting the coils, factory locking tuners, and a Wilkinson VS100 trem. She's in really nice shape, with the exception of the missing parts for where the trem bar (which is also missing) would attach to the bridge.

I basically thought I'd clean it up and flip it but once I got it tuned up and played a bit I think I love it.

This resonates with me. I could easily imagine me wasting the amount of time I spend in a million other less productive ways though.

I just brought this mystery organ home with me for the price of free. I know its been on the roadside left for garbage for at least a week and today I was out running an errand with no kid in tow. So I decided to stop and give it a look, and I'm glad I did.

Inside is a single ended tube amp with 5y3gt 6v6gt 12ax7a and 12dw7 tubes all made by silver tone including the chassis build. It includes an 8" speaker I believe. I've spent a whole 2 minutes with it so far.
I can't be certain yet that there arent more hidden tubes in the keyboard area. I see 120v running along with signal wires, into the keyboard assembly.
