I've been holding on to this guitar longer than I should have because it was my first guitar. I bought it without really knowing what I wanted, but I had heard that Gibsons were good guitars. Anyway, it's really just not my style, and it gets no play time anymore, so it's time to move it, sentimental value or not.

It was purchased at Wildwood Guitars in 2011 (at the time I had no idea that they were a big deal store, they are just located in a town near me and the guitar store in town didn't have SGs.)

It's a very nice example of an SG Standard, with a nice evenly colored fretboard and excellent balance (no neck dive at all.) Being 6 years old, there are some minor blemishes and wear, but nothing significant. I tried to point out the blemishes in the photos.

Reverb has sold listings for SG Standards between $700ish and $900ish. I'll probably list it on Reverb for $750+shipping, but would sell it to an AGF member for $750 shipped. I'd possibly consider trades, but will be very picky and would only trade for another single guitar of similar value (or possibly a guitar/cash deal.)

    Mods:
The ridiculously crappy corian nut was replaced with a bone nut by Woodsongs Lutherie here in Boulder
The Gibson 490/498 pickups were replaced with Buddha hand-wound pickups (A4 neck, A5 bridge) with a more vintage output
The Gibson PCB controls were replaced with hand-wired controls - CTS pots
Dunlop straplocks installed (the strap-side components will be included in the case)
Poker chip was replaced with rmfroyd custom chip with "Velvet/Polyester" wording. The original poker chip will be included in the case.

    That's a beauty. I had a 2003 SG Standard--best guitar I ever owned. GLWTS!

Nice! If I had the funds you would be without that guitar.

Do you still have Felix's SG? I can't remember if it was Heritage Cherry or Ebony. If it was Ebony, I think you need a HC example.

I wish. @fullonshred is the proud owner of Felix's SG. And it is HC.

Ah, yes. not sure why I confused that, I just remembered you helping Felix and his family with his guitars and I remembered there was a nice SG involved.

not to hijack but I thought Mr. Becks caring and respect with Felix was one of the touchstones of this forum, for me anyway.

AND! That's a gorgeous SG! GLWTS.
If I didn't have an epi SG that makes me smile to play I'd be after this beauty in a heartbeat.

I still have it. Don't play it nearly enough. I do need to put a slightly heavier set of strings on it though.

Sold on Reverb not even 24 hours after listing. I guess the price was good.

Congrats on the quick sale, it tempted me but I was able to control my gas long enough for it to sell.
