Call it whatever you want these discounts are pretty steep and it's a good opportunity to pick up 2016-2017 models a major Gibson retailer been unable to sell.

I'm really jonesing for '61 RI SG or a Gary Clark Jr signature but that Gold LP with Bigsby is pretty hot.

Bump because I know a few people thought I was crazy. I'm not sure if people thought I meant something else but this is exactly what I was talking about using Dec 2017 as precedent.

Is there an additional percentage off the listed prices on your link? Otherwise they appear to be pretty much the same as they’ve been for a long time. Studio for 1299, classic for 1899, Standard fot 2499, those are what they have been selling for since last year

I don't know what to say... I've seen prices on Gibsons like this several times in the past few years. It's what I cited as precedent for my expectations.

$799 walnut finish p90 sg. Looks good but I'd like it better at 60% off that price

You actually said you predicted 60% off of "Street Prices" https://www.aguitarforum.com/threads/gibson-file-for-chapter-11.100347/page-2#post-1638644

The prices AMS/ZZounds have listed in your link are basically street price. If they were indeed 60 percent off of that like you suggested, it would put a Studio T right around $519. Or a classic at $759. Or a Standard for $999. Or a firebird zero at $199.

If that were true I'd max out my credit card and buy a whole truckload of them ;-)

Those do look like the same old prices. I have waiting for a discount on a single P90 Jr. burst but they are still $1500.

If they did blow that model out, I will sell off another LP to get it. I will not add to the family.

Admittedly, I'm accustomed to any discount is an actual discount off of street price. Look at how example this Silver Sky is priced: https://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-PRS-JMSS-OX

Any sale on a PRS, Fender, or Music Man is actually a discount on their street price. One can argue that if Gibsons are always on sale they're never on sale. Maybe that's why you think I'm trolling. I do expect to see more sales like this, whatever it takes for retailers to purge the models that don't sell. I din't expect to see a Gary Clark Jr. Signature on sale, but I'm on the lookout!
