I have an AC10 and soon to be AC15CH head. I generally use them with my Greenback 212 with the ability to do 16 ohms each or parallel for an 8 ohm load.

Anyways I currently have it covered in my favorite color... green.

But I have been itching to get myself some vox tolex and diamond weave to make it all match. What say you?

That green cab you made looks great; dont mess with it.
Keep the green; recover the amp to match!!

I say let it be. Fine by me.
I dont like when couples dress alike either.

If the green tolex and grill would end up trashed, the cheap bastard in me wonders if you could spray the tolex black with some plasticized specialty paint, and perhaps even do the same to the grill with Vox color.... painters tape the pin stripes after. Or buy the grill cloth.

I know this is a cheesy suggestion. But I would consider it if the materials were going to end up junked.

all good. looks like there is some green in the vox grill, and black matches everything.

Rarely does it hit my OCD meter. I am okay with mismatches, in return for the combo I need for the moment.

I love doing the match thing but sometimes you just gotta wear e4cbd07ae370fe123e32f4657a029848.jpg 2 different color socks!

My head is black. My cab is white. My rack gear is black and silver respectively. While the colors don't clash, it's definitely not a matching cab. It doesn't bother me.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being extremely important.
    About -5.

It is all about how it sounds NOT how it looks.

Not even a consideration. About as close as I've come is to build a clone of a 1965 Fender Bandmaster cab to sonically match the one I already had. It was just convenient to make it cosmetically look like a new version of the relic'd one, as I already had the black tolex, grille cloth. tilt-back legs and Fender badge.

Oh yeah - I rarely if ever use it with a Fender amp.

The best sound I ever had was this.
    Screen Shot 2019-01-19 at 10.31.35 AM.png
Early 90s JCM 900 into a handmade cabinet (all plywood) that I got from garage sale for almost nothing. That's a 15-inch, early 80s Celestion in there. Not sure what the grill is. I only remembering spraying it white. On a a scale of 1-10 this rig was a solid 15. Another thing I regret not keeping.

There's something about this that's so orange, it's like how much more orange could this be? And the answer is none. None more orange.

Very important. I try and always match up 16 to 16 and 8 ohms to 8 ohms.

Sometimes I'll plug my K200 Kustom head into my homemade 212 cab just for the different sound. Don't care if anything matches.
