The hummingbird Spring sightings map tells me there was one sighting 35 miles away, so I got them going this morning!

New feeders, not the homemade ones I had - too many bees and ants drowing and messing up.
One has an "ant moat", the other does not, so I made one, bottom part of beer can, with pass-through screw, rubber washer, so there is a water barrier for ants to stop at.

Remember my earlier posting about hummy live webcams in Cali?
Well, a crow took aim at the most successful one. Babies gone, nest destroyed.

Plants around the house: up and growing..!

Other: on the musical side, not much, near zero on CL, but made friends with a local performer (one more to add to the "Poodles celebration of life" list!). Need more ideas, still not set on that 12" speaker cab. Hmm..

We have our HummZinger out, watching for the little scrappers to come around. I thought I caught a glimpse of one darting around. We had several last year. One of them claimed the feeder as his/her territory and regularly hammered any of the others that happened by.

We normally put ours out around the 15th of April. Old man winter threw one last storm at us here in Michigan
and this is what it looked like on the 15th. Needless to say we have not put them out yet.
This last week has brought much more seasonal weather and temps and we'll probably put them out next week.

Snow storm was on the 14th. This is the next day. Normally time to put out the hummingbird feeders. Not this year.

Getting one to sit long enough for auto focus to kick in can be a challenge.
