I just got my new AL-3200 Tiger Eye in. I will do a detailed review within the next couple of days.

My first impression is extremely favorable. I am actually surprised.

It may be my imagination, but it seems just a tad thinner and a tad lighter than the last one I bought from just a year ago. I don't know though. maybe tomorrow evening when I have a little more time I will get out the others that I have and compare them all before I give you a full review.

It's a much much nicer looking guitar than what is shown in the Rondo pictures. I really don't understand what the deal is with their photos. Do they just go with the photos that the janitor takes because he does it for free?

My silverbust 3200 came in this morning. Same as above but build quality is outstanding and sounds really great. probably should have given it a better dusting before I took the pics.

The 3/4 cap is measured at the center not the edge on carved top guitars including the G brand.

Do I see a double bound body? On a 3200? Mine does not have a double bound body oh, but I could see the silverburst being the right guitar to do that on. Still oh, that's the first double bound 3200 I've ever seen.

I don't have anything to weigh it with but I'd say 9 maybe 10 lbs which I don't think is bad for all that maple on it.

    That math checks out!

The thickness of the cap is as measured at the center. The total thickness of the cap + body together though is measured at the edge.

The cap starts out as 3/4" and remains so at the center, but the edges are carved down to make that famous LP "dish"

It's probably been asked a million times, but what's the difference between 3100MCC and 3200MCC? Is it worth the extra $100?

3200 is a neck-thru, so it has a 5 piece maple/walnut neck that runs all the way from tuners to rear strap peg.
It also has a belly carve in the back, and a sculpted neck heel, making the very high notes easier to reach. Look at pictures of the back to get an idea.
Other than that, they are identical.

Whether that is worth $100, only you can answer!

got the charcoal one in today, and all i can say is wow. it got me excited so i took a family photo, so not many closeups.

what surprised me is the neck. it honestly feels very similar to the compound radius necks found on the jackson pro series dinky and soloist models, which i have been testing in stores. it is rather flat, especially at the high end. it is nice. also, i was worried about the weight due to reports i have read, but it is not really heavy. it isn't super light but it is really pleasant. it is much lighter than my epiphone custom, and as you can see, it is much thinner. lastly, the charcoal looks sort of like chocolate in the rondo pictures, but it is much more a dark brown or light black smoky satin finish. the satin finish feels great.
