The often maligned ad-2250 should be here Thursday the 16th if Fedex has it right. Not that I trust them to dliver when they say first it was thurs. then today. Somehow it was supposed to make a 850 mile trip from 5 am and get sorted and delivered today. Thursday makes sense but we'll see. Stock photo so everyone can rag on about how ugly they think it is. I've been pretty critical of Kurt's baby and while I can't imagine ever really warming to that design, now that the initial shock has passed, the more I look at it (especially if it were outfitted with a pickguard similar to the one suggested in the original thread by @mighty_duck), the less abhorrent it seems to me. It's certainly different, I'll give it that much....

I'd actually buy one but i already have a bottle opener.

That being said, if the horn was just a bit smaller, and the overall top was just a bit wider, maybe. Let us know how the balance is and the weight.

Congrats! I'm also eager to see how it balances.

I will say this about it: it's very Agile. Looks Gibsonish but with a stubbier horn :)

I'm curious about the balance myself, don't think neck dive will be an issue. I admit a balanced set p horns or bigger upper bout would balance out the look more but then I think it would just fade into the muchness of doublecuts. Kind of like the liquid you either get past the slight oddness of it or you can't. No shame in either. Some people love danelectro 59s or longhorns . I can't see myself playing one.

I like that its another double cut option in fact I like it. The pickguard isn't a deal breaker for me. I definitely like two volume and tone knobs because I use them. let us know how the action is with the Tom which IMHO is better than a wrap around, I'm sure some others here disagree so your mileage may vary.

    There's something about it...

It pushes the boundaries between Classic and Cheese.

This could be Kurt testing his powers of mind control...

It's here. :D Haven't done much with it in the last hour slightly dropped the bridge to get the action where I want tuned and checked intonation. It is in the 8 pound range 7.5 to 8.5 maybe light, resonant well balanced with or without strap. No neck dive or discomfort with just a $ 5 dollar ernie ball strap. Knobs are responsive pups sound decent will tweak height see if that makes them better. It looks more in balance real life than pics just the bottom bout seems a bit large but it seems to be the same size as other agile ad & al models. For me , I feel it's a big step up from the ad 201 I got but that could just be me. The tummy cut makes it comfortable with my big belly. My only real complaint sounds like @nomadh the back would look better a light color like the center front. The neck is pretty much like standard Agile AL only maple. 20190516_101402.jpg 20190516_101431.jpg

After messing around with it for awhile I'd say I have a winner here. I didn't notice the fret ends at first, well dressed and judging by feel when paying attention I think they were polished. They feel better than the AL3100 fret ends even. Balance is great the head stock stays where I want with no effort knob layout is good they are were my hand expects them. I understand those that are unsure of the looks but will say it's a quality guitar that needs no real upgrades except for possibly the pups for preference.
