This guitar is listed for sale on my local craigslist. The ad claims it is an Agile from Rondo music that has been highly modified. With the bolt on neck, pointy horn, and split block inlays it seems more likely to me that it started life as an SX. Perhaps it could be a very early Agile, as I do recall some pointy horn models in the very early years.

While it has some quality upgraded parts, it's still only a no-name, bolt on neck LP clone with a highly personalized paint job. I'm used to grabbing stuff like this at well under $100, not the $220 that the seller is asking.

Even though I'm not interested in the guitar as a potential buyer, I'm still curious as to what the forum thinks it really is.

The text from the craigslist ad:

"This was originally an Agile Guitar from rondomusic.com before it was given a new paint job and some upgraded pickups and a bridge by a guy named Teddy Zane, who used to customize guitars around a decade ago. Since then, it's mostly stayed in my closet as I've grown out of the whole 80's hair metal aesthetic but it still has a little wear on the paint that you should be able to see in the photos. The pickup in the bridge is a Steve Vai Dimarzio Evo 2 while the pickup in the neck is a GFS Vintage Extra Hot. The Bridge is a high quality Gotoh chrome Floyd Rose, and as such it stays in tune extremely well unlike the cheap knockoffs. I still have the original tremelo bar if you don't like the look of the Fender one."

I vote not an Agile. There is literally no detail that makes me think Agile from body shape, neck shape, headstock, etc.

Inlays are reminiscent of some SX guitars.

That thing looks like an SX. Headstock shape, bolt on, spikey horn, odd upper bout and those inlays. It’s an SX.

The horn is wrong also the headstock and inlays. look at the upper bout on the strap button side, you see how the it goes up to the button and then drops back down a little and radiuses back up to the neck. This was never an agile IMHO.

The only bolt on neck Agiles I've ever seen were strat & tele styles
except for a single run of "Made In Vietnam" AL's which were after the 2000 was killed.
(Which went over like a turd in a punchbowl.)

I do believe that @honyock is right about this guitar, as it does look like an SX GG1 BO that has been substantially modified. The body was routed front and back for a floating Floyd and a lock nut was fitted on the neck. The neck plate looks like it has some kind of custom engraving.

Even though somebody surely put a lot of time and effort in this SX, I'd still rather have it in stock condition (though they could leave the upgraded pups).

I don't know of to any Agile LP's w/Bolt-on neck, as that's why there's the SX brand

Ya maybe the neck was swapped from one SX (non-FLoyd model with block inlay) to another with SX (with floyd and dot inlay). Maybe not but the outcome is the same. It’s 100% SX (neck and body) and not Agile. The seller is confused. The unique shape of the SX truss rod cover is a tip. Agile never used ones like that.

Not an Agile, this is a modded to hell SX GG.

The Agile AL1900s have a bolt on neck, but the inlays here are a dead giveaway that it’s the SX.

Not sure, maybe SX like others have said. I don't recall Callisto's being offered with a bolt-on. Their set necks were affordable enough that it logically would not make sense for them to make a bolt-on neck version.

The bolt on Callisto's were cheaper than the set neck ones.

Even if it was an Agile..it's not now. It's some bastardized 80s hair metal nightmare

Seller seems to be using the name Agile when he means SX, knowing both come from Rondo. Prob a "selling point" to fluff his own blowhole.

Looks like someone did some good work.

I knew honyock would know that model.

Are you gonna go play it? It has some cool features, floyd, paint color scheme (although not sure how the quality is, anybody ever hear of the guy who modded it?). So yea not bad, just wouldn't bite on that one for 220.
