Is that a "thing" with them? It does seem that way. The first one I played had the aesthetics of a military weapon. And it sounded like a canon going off.

    Here is my Eastman OM-10.
I wouldn't call it "blingy" but it plays & sounds great. :)

I was wanting an om sized but this 420 is what turned up. I'm trying to nail down specs especially for care. Do you know if yours or all Eastman's are varnish? I see some are but specs just say gloss finish on mine.

Well, I had no clue so I went to my favorite Eastman dealer's website and found this:

    Body Top Finish: Gloss Nitrocellulose

    Neck Finish: Gloss Nitrocellulose

Eastman has a poly finish line but mostly (I believe) sell nitro finished.

Yes. Eastman still shows a 422 and it specs nitro so I'm thinking my 420 in the same line will match.
A little disappointed my finish is not varnish made up of thousands of crushed bugs (or is that shellac?) but still nice to know it has that fairly vintage toxic flammable nitrocellulose vibe. :)
