I thought Jack Daniel's was the official FUEL of rock and roll.

My experience with JD is that one bottle is as smooth as silk, and the next bottle redefines the term "fire water".

I've had it many years ago. Was alright.

Real Mead is awesome. But almost everything that's billed as Mead is just honey flavored watery stuff. Mead should be thick.

A friend of mine when I was growing up saw the Crue in Winnipeg (with Whitesnake opening!), and was close enough that Nikki Sixx poured JD in his mouth.

Another friend saw DLR on the "A Lil' Ain't Enough" tour, and they had devils (like on the album cover) that came up from beside a secondary stage in the audience and pissed Jack Daniels on the crowd.

Ah, but there's all sorts of mead too. I've had some that was very reminiscent of champagne.

Not in California, any store be it specialty or large chain grocery. Not in Kentucky either. Have spent a lot of time looking.

Commercially available Mead is to real Mead
How McDonalds is to a real burger

    IE, it's gross.

I used to like Jack a lot. In a related story, I've sworn off brown liquors.

That's very true. If you want decent mead, you either have to find a meadery or make it yourself, IME.

I have many memories with Jack Daniels and will still drink it from time to time. I generally just drink it neat or on the rocks tho, Jack+Cokes or Jack+ginger has too much sugar.

One more I didn't see in the mix...

I can't do Jack or any other sour mash or bourbon. Now a single malt is another story!

Any more of this Mead talk and I may seriously think about resusitating the Dungeons & Dragons thread.

    Now that's rock and roll.

The lake water from Tims Ford just cools the vats, it's not in the whiskey or the mash.

I've drunk more Jack than probably any other liquor...almost always mixed with Coke. Jack and Coke was my go-to drink. I could suck those babies down. But I had one too many blackout episodes drinking like that, so I haven't had hard liquor in over 2 years. I stick to beer and wine. Don't think I've ever blacked out from those.

I like it better than regular JD, especially if I'm sick with the flu.
