Vocalist Kenny Rogers, who dominated the pop and country charts in the 1970s and 1980s with a string of sleekly tailored hits and won three Grammys, has died. He was 81. Rogers “passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family,” a representative for the singer said in a statement. Due to the national COVID-19 emergency, the family is planning a small private service at this time with a public memorial planned for a later date.

Owned now by a Malaysian Conglomerate. Next time in Kuala Lumpur I'll have some chicken as a tribute to Kenny

RIP Kenny. Watching the video above of the him with his band The First Edition I was reminded that Mickey Jones was a founding member with Kenny. You make recognize him as a character actor who appeared in a lot of movies.

Always seemed a good guy. Not my music but a talent. Will always remember him from a big 3 family 2 week road trip. We all had CBs and we were listening to rock but ol Gail had the camper with the bumper sticker "I like both kinds of music, country and western" when no one talked for awhile he would do a check in by eitherbroadcasing the tape or singing "you got to know when to fold em, know when to hold em"
Kenny was a fun part of a great trip
    That and Kramer ref.
    RIP Kenny.

A now dead friend of mine sold horses and moonshine to a lot of people. He says Kenny bought both from him, and I believe him. Kenny was a notorious drunk.

My oldest female cousin (a redheaded beauty) swears she was on a ski vacation and that Kenny was at the same resort, drunk as a lord and he wouldn't quit hitting on her til she really got mad and told him off. She said he was then very apologetic.... for about 2 minutes and then started hitting on her again. I have never known her to tell tall tales.

I've always thought that Kenny Rogers couldn't keep up with her in that duet.

I had the privilege of seeing him a few years ago, right before he retired. I had a feeling then that he wasn't much longer for this world. I'm glad I was able to catch him when I did.

Somewhere in the darkness, The Gambler, he broke even.
