This is about plain old regular potato chips. No flavors, no ridges and no baked thingies. So what to heck is up with Lays? Very expensive and it is rare that I can find anything other than broken pieces in the bag. Not a big snack eater but like a few chips with my sandwich. The private label chips I get at Aldis are much better tasting and have a bunch of whole chips.

    Lays - crappy pieces...

What, that chips are always broken?

Hey do you remember back in the 80s/90s some potato chips that came in a huge giant bag. Then you opened the big bag and found four unbranded brown chip bags of regular size.

I remember those being a favorite as a kid.

I remember them coming in a box which had the unbranded bags inside.

I am not a fan of sweets but i could demolish a bag of any kind of potato chips at will. Plain is good, but I like Dill Pickle, Sour Cream & Onion, and Salt & Vinegar too. Lays used to have a Garlic and Onion flavor that stayed with you for hours after eating them.

I've never understood why the US never embraced flavours we take for granted back in England. Smokey Bacon, Cheese'n'Onion (Sour Cream & Onion isn't quite the same), Roast Chicken, Beef, Prawn Cocktail (yuck), etc... During the 80's we even had Hedgehog flavoured (although that was a short-lived gimmick based on the fact that hedgehogs are sadly often roadkill).

I'd send their customer service a email, or twitter or facebook or something. Chances are they will send you a coupon for a free bag.

they are just to much salt and oil for me lol

    these are great chips^

Lays actually do make some cool wild flavors but i never see them here in the US
Canada seem to have some cool flavors! GBQ does a review

I especially enjoy being insulted by packaging. I KNOW it is by weight not volume,
so WHY make a big f'in bag only filled a third of the way, broken or not?

Everything is smaller, pound of pasta or other 16 oz standards now commonly packaged at 12 or even 10 oz.

Wait, I am supposed to be too stupid to see this is hiding increased pricing and masking the true rate of inflation (in the US anyway). (dont tell mom)

*flick* rant switch off -super bitch about life powers >> deactivate!!

So, that said, I like a few chips if they are in front of me but I wont go buy them.
Those Snyders Honey Mustard and Onion pretzel pieces may be the death of me though.

The other different flavors can be good but I can only eat so many bacon or sour cream or bbq chips. I can eat straight through 70 oz of chips. Hmm maybe i should buy the oddballs.
Naw, I'd eat them too I just wouldn't enjoy it. :)

Pretty sure those are Lays Ridges pieces in that pic, no way those are regular Lays... I can actually see ridges on them!
