This Fender MIM Strat in Midnight Wine is a partscaster by all accounts and according to the former owner. Picked it up for $350 off FB marketplace, aka the new craigslist.

I was really searching for an early 2000’s Strat in satin midnight wine, and after The One getting away from me on reverb (3 offers expiring and several messages, no response) it was quite aggravating because it was a beauty, rosewood board, black pickguard and place pup covers, she was sweet. And then I discovered a couple days later it got marked sold.....so then I found another on reverb but the guy was a total douche. He claimed it was a brand new, in the box 2004 MIM satin wine Strat and wouldn’t budge off of $650 so after our little exchange I told him to take a hike and good luck. Dude was mf-ing me in our messages....oops.

Well this brought me to this beast. I plan on going traditional single coils. I’m thinking about a mojotone, noiseless design, but not sure yet. If anyone has a spare black pickguard and/or a 5 way switch and other parts or plastics they want to sell me on the cheap, I’m in.

    Without further ado

I might scavenge the JB in the winecaster and drop it in my Rage Against the Machine Strat, but I think there’s already a DiMarzio and it sounds really good, but either way, I got a JB out of the deal.

Next up, from January courtesy of Guitar Center in Williston, VT whilst traveling for work, I fell in love with this acoustic. It’s a Yamaha A1MVN. I love it. My fav acoustic I own. And the best part, it needed nothing done to it! Lol

Also thinking about selling this Cabronita, but not entirely sure yet. It was modded to have a tone pot and a coil split switch.

Oops so I guess I messed up....

I did a trade earlier this month whereby I traded a Hofner semi hollow body for about a half dozen pedals.

Some are pretty damn sweet! Some are probably going to get sold!

The Angry Driver I just picked up reverb. Such an awesome pedal, I cannot say enough good things about it.

    the good:
    JHS Muffuletta (fuck yes)
Seymour Duncan 805 (never knew SD made pedals, this thing is an 808 tubescreamer and it’s awesome).
EHX Small Stone Nano (might sell my Phase 99, need more time to determine)
Tech 21 Blonde (sounds awesome as a bass preamp)

I snagged a Floridian FX Codebreaker Boost off @rmfroyd AND THIS THING IS AWESOME!!! OMFG one of the best pedals ever. It’s a Lovepedal Tchula, look it up and look up Josh Smith immediately if you’re not familiar, you will want to quit playing guitar.

    The not so great:

    For sale (BRO):
EHX Drip (see photo above, not a huge fan of reverbs) $60 shipped
EHX Tone Corset compressor $60 shipped

And finally....this thing has been kicking my ass.

I bought a set of Fender Texas Special pups a couple years ago and just finally got to working on this guitar. It’s a Squier Tele from the early 1990’s in British Racing Green, so damn cool. This guitar had a maple neck originally with the thinnest frets ever, had to go. I dig the new neck a lot.

I bought an Emerson prewired kit and a new plate and knobs. Long story short, the damn switch was too deep for the cavity and I had to bust out the chisel. After wiring everything up I ripped it back apart and when I wired it again the neck pup wasn’t working. After a week’s worth of beer and maybe some other narcotics I finally gave up and brought it to the shop. Dude called me back and said the pickup was no good.

I was baffled because when I first wired it, before I disassembled it, it was working. I’m not sure what to do, I may see if the pickup can be rewound or something like that, already reached out to @Buddha Pickups.

I can’t wait to get this guitar online. This thing is so cool.

I vote leave it be. It should kick ass as it is.

    I'd install a Floyd, but that's me.

I get the overwhelming consensus is to leave it alone, but I already have my Rage Strat (pic above with the winecaster) with a Floyd and a humbucker.

My intentions with the winecaster and the green tele is I have a band that is getting back together and we will probably be playing mostly in D standard, will be doing a Baroness style thing, so I want the single coils. Kind of a proggy-hard rock with two guitars, guitar harmonies. I subscribe to the notion that the guitar rigs should sound quite different.

Awesome HB strat! I've been thinking of doing that to one of mine.

Let me know if you want to sell the guard, or guard and pickup. I might be interested.

Ok cool. I’m not in the market for the JB so maybe we can work something out. I can probably leave it all prewired if we do something. I’m planning on getting a SSS prewired pickguard.

Wired in the new pickguard with the 50’s fat strat pickups, put a set of heavy 11’s on it and I’ve been messing with the setup. I’m not sure what was on it prior, maybe 10’s.

I’m using this guitar for D standard so I wanted something on there that didn’t bottom out and the 11’s don’t feel all that heavy to me on the strat, bends aren’t an issue for me.

I ordered a black pear pickguard which should be here soon. I really like the white but the black may end up taking the cake. TBD
