I've long lusted after these amps and found one locally for a good price. This is one of the later versions with a 3-piece back and the low power switch. At full power it is LOUD--too much so for an apartment with a new baby. The low power switch is really nice though: great tone at manageable levels. At full power I think it would be great with pedals. At low power, I just go straight in for really nice classic British blues/rock tone.

Not too much clean headroom, but great classic British blues/rock breakup. Very Paul Kossoff-esque. Looks super cool as well, like a mini Bluesbreaker. I think it's a keeper!

What’s not to like. An LP into a Marshall. Nice looking pair.

I love Marshall and man is it bare bones.. Volume and tone controls... That's it.... No gain, no reverb.... . No nothing. Should be great for a pedal board.... What did that run used?

Had one, liked it, lot of tube breakup, just didn't have a good application for it. If I were doing a blues jam night, I could'a used it! (of course if it had been one of the purple ones, I'd have kept it!)

    Congrats!

The similarity is eerie. I should have kept both of these. Happy New Amp Day (and yes, it's loud).

That amp looks sexy as hell. It’s begging to be cranked. HNAD! I guess you have to keep it on the quiet side with the little one at home though. Hopefully you get some time to turn to 11

You just need Eric Clapton in the pic to complete it!

    HNAD!

Less than the prices on Reverb ;). Sold a Blues Jr III (nice amp, but liked/played my Silverface Fenders much more) that more than covered the Class 5 price.

On the low-power mode at around 2-3:00 it really sings. Haven't even played it on full power yet...

I really dig the Bluesbreaker look. One of these days I'll buy a real amplifier. HNMD!

I've got a couple of Fenders, maybe sell or trade for one of those. Love the look.

I had the white one. Great amp, but good lord was it ever loud. For such a small amp you could flat shake the windows loose. Was more amp than I needed but it did sound great.

Anything past 11:00 was not my cup of tea. Perhaps a speaker swap would improved the higher gain sounds. Keep us posted.
