Prayers for all affected.
Joe, feeling some of your pain, my wife has issues too, mostly caused probably by me. Last summer I had to put my mom under mental care for a month.
So no stranger to the cruelty of mental illness, and the helplessness you can feel. It's not a cut or a broken bone you can see on an xray.
If you need someone to talk to, message me, I'll give you my number, or give me yours I'll call you.
Until then, maple and bacon flavoured mojo being sent on the wings of Canada gooses to your wife.
Prayers for you and your family.
Maple bacon Canada geese ? MMMMMMMMMM
I have battled depression for 12 years now, and thankfully remain functional. But I remember the worst times, and do not care to repeat them. Proper care and the love of a good woman kept me alive. And the whole experience opened my eyes to the fact that my dad likely had it too.
Jofa, take care of your wife, but also yourself. Breathe. Love your children. Play some guitar. Grab a beer and listen to some Allman Brothers. And know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Prayers and mojo for you and your family, Joe.
Bless you all.
Blessings to you and your family... I have suffered with chronic clinical depression all of my life. I know how painful it can be.
Prayers for you and your family. I've got my hands full too as my wife has dementia/Alziemers. Just got her out of the hospital and rehab from a bad fall and broken leg. Hang in there.
The internet has great stuff like Headspace that may prove helpful for both of you. I shuddered at the thought of meditation, but they have sessions that are as short as three minutes.
They dont solve the world's problems immediately, but I have noticed that a ten minute break does wonders for my well-being. I can't help others if I'm spent. Perhaps the two of you (or just you) could try the free week. It's really well done and they have topics ranging from healthy eating to grief and mourning.
I just finished a session on appreciation. It was more effective than anything I have tried before (psychologists, self-help books, group therapy, etc).
God has a blueprint for you. Bits and pieces will fill you with joy, others will test your resolve and perhaps even your faith. Regardless, he's available for consultation at all times and we're around for a bro hug whenever you need one.
