Correct. As long as the same materials and standards/tolerances are used. I have an LTD with a Special that was not as good. I upgraded for an German OFR with the hardened string retainer at the neck. Night and day. I moved that bridge to my first schecter and put the 1500 that it came with on my LTD. I'm happy with the performance of both guitars now.

    NICE!
Play it like you stole - I think you did at that price!

Love my Japan Dinky DK2 but the Jackson licensed floyd doesnt hold tune that well.
Still may spring (lol) for the Gotoh version but I think the rear of the recessed cavity where the fine tuners are would have to be routed back a little farther.

Is that the low profile floyd style like this?

It is really similar to the Washburn-branded one that came in my N3. A Schaller bridge fits that route perfectly. I bought the new bridge and did all that work to find out that the nut was the issue. New Gotoh nut solved a lot of issues. I also added OFR studs.

I tried to put the Gotoh Floyd in, but the string lock screws were too long. They are longer on the Gotoh than on the OFR.

Also, try lubing the knife edge on the bridge and the point where it contacts the post with Chap Stick. it works. The flavour doesn't matter :)

    Yep thanks for the tips.
Yes, the Gotoh has the string locks out the back.
I have it set up with a simple trem stop to dive only.

I dont use the bar often; it goes a little flat on big bends I do a lot of.
I may add a little tension to the claw springs as well.
