    New Fishing Hole Discovery Day

So a gloomy humid and drizzly Saturday and I took a walk to the mom n pop shop about 500 meters from my gated community. Apparently the lotus ponds which seemed to be cultivated at one point but now seem quite wild, are full of fish, namely Snakehead and catfish if I understood the boy I spoke with who had just pulled out a Snakehead fish..no doubt his dinner tonight.

I guess it's time to look for some fishing gear.

Yes..they are actually very meaty and delicious. In America they are a scourge because they are an alpha predator and basically kill off all other species. I know in certain states they will pay you something like $20 or $30 bucks for every one you remove from the lakes. But they are really tasty too

Something about the name "Snakehead" that just doesn't wet the appetite...

Looks tasty! Iove fishing little ponds that have been forgotten, they seem to hold all the good fishing.

Yeah this area is literally 200 meters from the front entrance of my neighborhood...I did not even realize people fished there until I strolled about on a drizzly Saturday and saw 3 or 4 guys (and this kid) apparently catching stuff with ease. They have a saying in Thailand "It rains fishes" because literally every rice field and every body of standing water seems to be teeming with fish or little crabs
