Greetings all. Been away from the forum for awhile. Several contract changes for my job, cancer treatments, divorce, and a kid getting ready to go to Texas Tech kinda keeps you busy. Anyway, I noticed the ALD-3010SE Thin on Rondo's site a while back. After doing much research, I discovered there wasn't a whole lot of information available anywhere. Soooooo, I decided to take the plunge and see what this love-child of an LP Custom Lite and a PRS was all about. First off, this thing is thin and much lighter (8.5 lbs) than my AL-2000 (10 lbs). It measures 1.5" at the edge, but is carved on both front and back, so it is right at 2" in the middle according to by calibrated eyeball. Binding is very white compared to the cream color on my AL-2000. As someone noted in the Skinny Minnie thread, the horn is a little thinner and longer than the Agile standard. Overall, the body shape is just slightly different than the AL-2000 in the lower bout. The neck is also thinner than the AL-2000. Pick-ups sound very good in all three positions. Maybe I'll consider coil-split in the future, but not anytime soon. I haven't found any blems to quibble about. I wanted black pick-up rings, so while changing strings before doing a set-up I went ahead and changed those and the knobs. Ok, enough talk, time for pictures. These were taken indoors since it is kinda gloomy outside today.
