THis has been around awhile me thinks. ZZounds and AMS have this special run. I had a black KoreanCasino that was a REAL piece of junk. A couple of the Chinese ones I have looked at were made much better than the one I had. I love 335 style guitars and full hollow bodies and Beatles stuff and ORANGE.

I sure wish the pups were replaceable with lower output ones. I am not really in to the custom wind thing and prefer black hardware.

I've never seen an ORANGE Casino before today. That thing look s amazingly cool, who woulda thunk it??? OMB, you can replace the pickups very easily or just the magnets. I've seen the guy who works on guitars where i jam convert several Casinos. I'm an odd duck, I actually love the factory pickups in mine. I was playing the bridge pickup a few days ago, and it's got a certain sweet quack to it that just makes me smile. I love the guitar too. Really impressive quality.

I vowed not to get a guitar for a while with the explicit corollary *ANY just to prove this is not an insidious affliction. I really want a Gretsch anyway . I wonder if they have a trademark on that shade of O ?
    Love the Epiphone.

Good morning, Steve. You know what's cool about Gretsch, even their lower priced guitars are really off the hook where quality is concerned. I have a Pro Jet, and it's just the cats meow. It's lighter than most single cuts, really well made, and nice to play. The only con, the dang pick guard is too high. It's about level with the high E string and I constantly hit the thing. LOL My favorite Gretsch around these parts is @Mickey 's Blue Wonder. Man I love that thing.

    Orange is pretty cool!

@peskypesky : new magnets and rewinding is not a big deal and the basic parts are good (nickel base plate, chrome cover, plastic bobbin). You can do a drop-in replacement for the bridge. The neck pickup replacement requires surgery.

I like my newly completed 2011 Chinese Casino, with exception that it is very hard to get the notes above the 15th fret.

My first electric , a Gretsch , came from the factory in Brooklyn. Family knew someone who worked there. The guitar I got had the absolute worst , fit and finish. The F holes were rough , there was a paint chip. I was so sad.

Having owned a few Casinos, I can say without a doubt that my current one (2016 MIC) beats the pants off my old Korean Casino in terms of construction (it's actually closer to my Japanese Elitist Casino), but the stock pickups were much worse. I had Buddha Tim rewind mine and they sound fantastic. Simply replacing the pickups on a Casino isn't that easy.

For the sake of clarity, I don't want to give the impression that all China-made Casinos are superior to the Korean ones... For the first five years they were being made in China (2010-2015), I was appalled by the Casinos that I was seeing in guitar stores... so check them dates if you're buying used!

Yeah I wasn't dumping on ALL Korean made Casinos. Just the one I had. Bad specimens pop up and I got one of those apparently. The neck also was thinner than the Chinese ones that I tried.

Pesky - Love the Sorrento but my hand cramps just looking at it. Wish I could play those thinner necks but on the plus side it save me some bucks.
