So I have been checking into treating myself to a les paul.
After researching and looking for local deals for the last couple of weeks I took a drive yesterday to check them out.
I have been looking at standards and traditionals leaning more towards the traditionals. I drove to Indy and looked around, best I found was a traditional pro at guitar center for $1699, but I didn't care for the top. So I turned around and drove up to Sweetwater to look at a demo they had on their site.
This was the first time I had been there in person . Very impressive!!! It is like going to a large music shopping mall.
I had them get it out and fell in love with it. Beautiful top, sounds sweet, and not a scratch on it.
They were asking $1640 for it and I asked what they could do on price. All said and done I got it for $1460.
Here are a few quick inside pics.

It's a honey burst, and it is quite a bit darker than both of my AL honeybursts.

Beautiful guitar! I've driven by Sweetwater several times when I was out that way in the truck, but was never able to stop. I'd love to get there some day.

Out of curiosity, are the two halves of the top as different in color as they look in your pics?

Rick, Yes and no. At certain angles it appears like it does in the pics. At other times it doesn't.

I think that one has the nibs so it will be more of a collectors item down the road maybe. I really like the weight of the Gibson LPs at least the ones with the binding top and bottom as they are weight relieved.

that is superior honey burst. the agile honey burst is very pretty also but there's almost no burst to it and one of my main complaints about it

That's a very nice looking guitar, and you got it at a damn good price!

    Ditch those speed nobs though.

That thing is damn near perfect! It looks like the two piece top has a little color variation - which is distinctive and unique in my opinion. Hope it sounds as awesome as it looks!

Happy new guitar day! Looks great!

I love going to Sweetwater. I go every chance I get. Great sales engineers that actually do about the gear they sell.

    Congrats!

top appears too much 2 faced for me...

& if that top were on a Agile AL 3xxx some would say send it back
or ask for a B-Stock discount
