Yep....and notice I edited my reply from "very nice" to "decent" after taking a couple closer looks at this one. Still think it's probably a good deal at 219.

Yep before anyone buys this one I highly recommend calling to get an in-hand description, "fair" is one of the worst ratings they can give to a guitar and usually indicates something decently wrong like serious fretwear, a headstock break, etc. Some stores do grade VERY harshly and I know one or two stores that would mark it as fair just cuz it's missing one of the knobs.

Still though, anything not marked at least "good condition", I would really recommend calling. If it's nothing more than some minor dings and the missing knob, that's a nice price with the upgraded pickups.

Then again, with GC there isn't much risk...given the super easy return in store, worst case scenario you'd be out $20 for the shipping.

Hopes somone picks up the silverburst soon. I'm not buying now and a 2000 isn't what would get money out my hand.

I've always wanted a Silverburst, and the AL-2000 in good shape is a great guitar. The only issue for me is the dang weight. They are stupid heavy, at least the 2 I have. I am the proud owner of the absolute UGLIEST Tiger Eye or Tiger Strip Lefty AL2000 ever made. It's so ugly, I felt bad for it, and gave it a good home. LOLOL

PAY ATTENTION to what Brother SLOWHAND says above too. If you're going to buy this, call first. I've found that with rare exception, the people who work at GC are pretty honest and fair when I call to check on the actual condition of a used guitar.

Even with some bruises, this is almost a no brainer. Not only an old school AL-3k, but an al-3000m, with $200 EMG pickups.

Another cool one, mislabled as a an AL-3200, but is actually a circa ~2002 original horn and headstock AL-2500 or AL-2800 equivalent (name was in flux back then, might be LP-2000). $250

I've already got a couple of AL2000's, so I'm good on those. I agree the price is ok.
