Keeping my one song per month commitment going, here's song 5. This simply is a song that I wished I'd written. I thought that the minute I'd first heard it on the radio in 1995 and I still do today. This one has 1 dirty guitar per side, both Les Pauls through different Marshallesqe (what else would I use?) voices on my Blackstar ID:30 TVP. 1 lead guitar done with a Les Paul into my Blackstar ID:30 TVP. 1 acoustic guitar recorded with the now (almost) infamous $12 Chinese LDC mic. Bass also recorded through my Blackstar ID:30 TVP. Drums are me playing my Roland V-Drums kit live triggering Steven Slate Samples. There's a real shaker in there too. Keys are me playing my M-Audio Oxygen 8 into a .99 cent soft synth called Hybrid. I'd never be able to nail the keys sound on the original record, so I took my best shot at trying to come close. 1 lead vocal with my MXL V67g - single pass first take. I ended up just keeping the scratch vocal for a change. 2 harmony vocals also done with the $12 Chinese LDC mic. So without further ado ... Here's my cover of "Counting Blue Cars" by Dishwalla.
