I don't take many vacations so I'm pretty juiced about tomorrow because we are undertaking a big adventure. We're traveling from here (Steamboat Springs, CO):

    To here (Wallace, ID):

'Gonna visit my brother and his family. Big Momma, The Iz (Izzy) and I will camp twice on the way up (near Jackson Hole and south of Missoula), play whiffle ball for a long weekend, and then drive back, camping twice. We're gonna hit West Yellowstone on the way home.

Homemade, at-a-glance, laminated (with packing tape) map.

I couldn't fit Colorado on the map above, but we're just below the Wyoming border. I'll be checking in. I'm really amped up. Happy trails!

The crew (the picture was taken tonight to stick in our father's day cards):

If you make it to Jellystone please make a side trip to "Craters of the Moon" National Monument nearby.
After the first lunar landing the Apollo astronauts trained there because Neil Armstrong reported back to NASA
that it was the closest thing to being on the moon he had experienced. Anyhoo, if you do, you'll be glad you did. :)

Have fun and be safe. Beautiful country out there, I can hardly wait until I am cruising those hills on my motorcycle.

Wow, big country trip (see below)!
    Have fun and stay safe.

    I like the map prep.

For some of us in New England, these vast expanses of territory are breathtaking!

Owyhee County Idaho is slightly larger than Delaware but (when I was there 50 years ago)
had a population under 200 people with many, many thousands of sheep. :)

I live eight hours from Yelllowstone and have never been there. If we make it, I'll say hello to this guy for you.

The campgrounds are booked up well ahead of time. We'll probably camp just before or after the Park.

'Lots and lots of sheep in Idaho.

I've been fortunate to live in a few places in Idaho (the pretty parts). Growing up in the Northwest, I need me some trees. If I need to visit a barren wasted land, I'll go hang out on by back lawn. Seriously, thanks for the tip.
