Here is the whole song
Is that a Gibson with the old logo?
Well it sure aint no Chibson !
I love slide guitar. Didn't do know what it is was until I became a fan of Ben Harper of a teen although I probably heard it before.
His front guitar strap button is on the neck heel, allowing him to hold the guitar in the slide position.
A true artist who knows his tools and how to use them.
Roy Clark, dare I say it, rocked way harder as a guitar player than so, so many others. And he looked like he was having fun too.
That's fantastic! I've done it at a gig with a Newky Brown bottle back in the day but to be honest that was more to try to look cool than anything else.
That was the best part of my day.
What an entertainer. So cheeky, it just hit me. He was a country music ver of benny hill.
Loved his guitar playing but those over the top silly faces get to me after a while.
Gotta love Roy Clark. Without a doubt one of the greatest musicians. He was very personable and humble as well. He has stated that he used the comedy bit to get over his shyness and introverted nature on stage.
I bet it got him lots of chicks too..ha ha ha
I do not think the drill sergeant/battle axe he was married to let him have that long of a leash.
This could easily turn into a Roy Clark appreciation thread. And I appreciate this:
My God, that picking hand......
Maybe before he got 'hitched' ?
