I had this song running around my head some 27+ years ago. Had the base structure and I knew I wanted it to have an extended solo part, but I didn´t knew how to play a solo and didn´t have the knowledge to do it, so I "forgot" about it. I believe several things have aligned so this can finally happen, including spiritual things -but still far from a master style result, mind you-. Very rookie.

Important: No vocals as I have no means to record my voice. I suppose you can hear the whole song and enjoy the work. Guitar parts begin aproximately at 1:08 if you want to skip the first part.

For those who want to know a little of the "technical" stuff, read down:

*Agile AL3000, stock everything (of course), Bridge PU used for both rhythm and lead tracks.
*Fender Mustang I amp, V1. Presets made by me (also serves as a PC interface for recording the guitar).
    *Audacity (DAW)
*Chordpulse for making the base track (drums, bass, keyboards). Not much can be done with this program, just enough for a somewhat decent backing track, but I´m satisfied -for now- how it resulted. Close to what has been in my mind all these years.

Recorded one clean guitar track (panned to one channel), one lead guitar track (panned to the other channel), and one low-dirt guitar track for rhythm, added at the final part of the song. I´m not a pro, just tried to do what sounded best to my ears and close to what I wanted to hear.

I am definitely not the entertainer or show man type as you can see in the video. I´m still focused on trying to play the best I can. Besides, this is a personal video, nothing artistical:)

Of course, once you hit the red Record button, your hands do whatever they want, not what you want, so some mistakes here and there. After several attempts, this was the best.

I´ve been working on the song about 5 months ago, when I had the time to do it. There were weeks that I couldn´t touch the guitar. Finally a rough demo came out.

Hope you like it! All in all, I enjoyed doing it.

    Sabas.

Better with a good pair of headphones/speakers and a good player...

You're making Agile players proud, Sabas.
Nice song. It felt very oceanic at first. Then it took off into the sky.
I think I heard a little Mick Taylor in there toward the end, from 4:40 to be exact.

I very much enjoyed listening to this while sitting on the sofa enjoying a bowl of homemade chili on this cold December evening.

The rhythm really locks in halfway through the song and conveys affirmative energy. What I hear most in the soloing is Carlos, in the bends, trills, vibrato, and the tasteful and economical phrasing.

    Well done!

Glad you liked it, Christopher! Thanks... I had to look out for Mick Taylor; it´s funny, I was never fan of the Stones -except for "Angie" because it sounds so sad, I like that-, but if you say it, it is!

    Thanks, John!
(Inside note: that homemade chili I think would be enjoyed here too!)

During the building process I thought on doing the dirt rhythm part the whole song, but finally felt it was better at the end, for adding that energy as you say.

Definitely I do like Carlos playing -not all his songs, but rather his style- in an unconcious way, but seems that it is showing up? I like sustain notes and vibrato, and am trying to learn to add vibrato to the bended note, which I find something not very easy to do without going out of key. Anyway, I don´t think I deserve Taylor and Carlos references... but thanks! I appreciate your words.

Thanks Damon! Those words, coming from seasoned players like most of you, mean a lot. I know I still have a lot to learn, but this encourages me to keep on trying. Glad you enjoyed it!

Maybe I could add the presets used to the "tech data" info:

For clean guitar: Fender Princeton Reverb amp

    Preset 2 Clean.jpg

For lead and dirt rhythm guitar: Fender Super-Sonic

    Preset 1 Hard.jpg
