    That it is! :)

He's getting 3 Dimarzio's installed, CTS 500K pots, PIO cap, fret work and Trem set up (and other misc things too to get'r right) :)

She's already torn down, will probably start on the neck later on today for a while... his frets can definately cut steak at a GuitarBq.... :ticking:

    Dave

Gotta say I admire your handiwork. And to think I used to be a crew chief on a c-130 and built 1/4 milers. Now I can barely change a string! Like the Yellow!

Got half the neck done, need to file the high side now before clean/polish
Replaced the stock pivot studs with a bit heavier Jackson non-fine thread studs
Got the pickguard electronics off and will probably do the complete re-wire tomorrow

Nice frets, nice neck... but dang... they were sharp as a mutha'!!! Almost like they (Iben-had) just cut them and hammered them in ya know... ha hahahah...

I'm curious myself how these Dimarzio's are going to sound and I also noticed that his middle pup (then single) has alot of things in common build wise to those Guitarheads Hex singles... probably not the same,, but definately alot of similarity.

Not a bad guitar overall in my opinion - just alot of things left unfinished and if there was a QC person that check'd off on this thing... they deserve a swift kick in the ass... but I have to remind myself this is a mass produced factory axe.... so there's gonna be some slop... still pisses me off though and it's not even my guitar!! ha hahahaahaha......:ticking:

    Woohoo! There she is!

Hey Dave, if you like them pups that are in there, they are all yours! I'll have no use for em, so they'll either go to you, on fleabay for $15 (if I'm lucky), or to some other AGFer gratis.[hr]
    Oh yeah, the inspiration:

Dimarzios, btw, are two PAF Pros and an HS-3.

Not to thread-jack, but I was curious about the Hex Singles. Quality? Are they Stratty-sounding or more high gain?
    Thanks.

    Not a hijack at all

I'd say they're very stratty sounding with a moderate push and nice clarity - for $19... they're a rediculous buy I think. I have one in the neck on my Jackson Kelly

at about $13 more,, you can also get into the Tesla Plasma 1's wich sound great! (alnico V and moderate output as well)

I'm so not a single coil person... but those are two pickups I do like and have them in my guitars[hr]
Not a problem - I'll take them and use them for future projects no doubt

Cool. I'm thinking of putting those in the neck/middle with the rail for the bridge (unless I splurge for Keystones).
